I am severely offended by the random unbased opinion of a middling coach who has never coached Dwight Howard.

    No wait. I don't care.

This is exactly the kind of thing Byron Scott needed to say to save face with the Lakers faithful after the Ronnie Price and three pointers debacle. Dude has to toe the company line if he wants to make it past this season.

Over/under on 5 years until Lakers people will stop being butt hurt over Dwight leaving?

Probably where he said he'd start Price over Lin.

Speaking of, Howard, since turning 21, has never missed the playoffs. James Harden has not missed the playoffs even though the team he joined in 2009-2010 was coming off a 23-59 record. Tell me more about Kobe and his ability to carry teams to the playoffs? Hasn't he been in the scoring title hunt before and missed the playoffs?

Dude, there is zero reason to put down one of the best centers to ever play the game here. We have Dwight for the exact same reason that Miami has their first championship: Kobe Bryant is a d***. Shaq was a great player, had tons of moves and developed a hell of a game despite never being able to shoot from over 12 feet consistently. He was quick, powerful, creative with what limited tools he had, and I always wanted him to play for the Rockets. And the reason he was remarkably agile given his size is because he worked his butt off to keep his body fat percentage down. He did that several years in the league, just not all of them.

Shaq also made the playoffs 17/19 times and never missed the playoffs in his prime.

I think he's right that Howard isn't as serious as Kobe. Kobe is very serious. But, Kobe is also an idiot who hamstrung his own team and his own championship hopes by being an egotistical jackass while Howard did the smart thing and found an opportunity that maximized his chances of winning while still getting paid a reasonably handsome salary. Kobe is serious about competing, but not too serious about winning. So, what good is being serious if it doesn't bring championships? Lakers don't have a window that'll open for the remainder of Kobe's career. If he is actually serious about winning, he'll leave LA.

I thought Jeremy Lin is about to show his full potential now that he's not being held back by McHale? Surely he's good for a couple of rings.

Byron and Jeannie Buss are TRYING SOOOOO HARD to poke the bear! I love it. And the national media...keep throwing hate. It'll keep us stoked and focused throughout the season.
