Is this accurate? I thought one had to be on a permanent contract (i.e., they cannot fill both slots with 10-days)?
TJ also had the slowest jump shot in the league. He turned a catch-and-shoot into a catch-aaaaaaannnnnnnnnddddddddd-shoot.
There really aren't many option left. Is Wilson Chandler available? Is he going to clear waiver on time if waive today? Are we left with Beasley or Casspi? How is Trevor Booker? Rotoworld latest update "Booker signed with the Shanxi Brave Dragons in China, but he's expected to be cleared in time to pursue an NBA comeback around February."
Haven't really looked into him for a while, but I think Booker could be a nice get. (Again, I haven't looked into him for a while, so my opinions on him are dated by 3-4 years and might be off-base at this point.)
Confirmed by Bima and Albert that Rockets CAN sign 2 10 days and WAIT on signing a player for the rest of the year until around March 1st.
Inactive players can be determined game by game. We have 2 two-way contracts (House and Edwards), both of which are considered inactive. In our current situation, we can have 12 active and 4-5 inactive OR 13 active and 3-4 inactive (16 to 17 total). CBA requires teams to have a minimum of 14 on the roster, not including two-ways. 10-day contracts are contingent upon the number of players on the roster (excluding two-ways). At 12 players we cannot have a 10-day. At 13 we can have 1, 14 have 2 and 15 have up to 3. Therefore, if we are adding two more players to round out a 14 man roster, both can be 10-days. edit: I just read Bima's post... Now I'm confused. lol. nevermind I figured it out. I'm editing my previous paragraph
Rockets can sign TWO 10 day guys for Thursday. And they can WAIT until around March 1st to sign a buyout player for the rest of the regular season. Basically the *urgency* to find the "buyout guy" is lessened now. My speculation. The *buyout guy* the Rockets eventually sign is probably currently on a roster now waiting to negotiate a buyout to find a landingspot. Similar to how the Faried signing happened.
Straight from the CBA "A Two-Way player must be on his team's Active List or Inactive List while playing in the NBA." If they are not dressed out [for the nba game] they are not active. edit: by the way, a team is only allowed up to 13 active players at one time edit2: for clarity this line is also straight from the cba, "If an active player on a standard NBA contract is assigned to the G-League, he is automatically placed on his NBA team's Inactive List"
Then that's easy. Recall both Clark and Hartenstein so we have two inactive players. Two is not more than two.
So seems to me like we are gonna sign two 10-days . No reason to lose flexibility now I wonder if there is a possibility we can still use some of the MLE to sign House long-term ?
