Yup. It's not even debatable. Jeff Green has disappointed every single team he has played for, and this was when he was in his prime. He gets the deer in the headlight look when the pressure turns up. He cannot stand physical play. He gets rattled. This team needs mental toughness, not mental midgets.
Thabo -11 in 9 minutes. Lol if you think Thabo will not get abused in the playoffs. We need an upgrade here desperately.
Neither Jeff Green or Thabo mean anything in the big picture. Need better players than both of them to truly challenge for a ring. We are arguing about nits right now.
I honestly think the Rockets are waiting for guys like Markieff Morris and Moe Harkless to be bought out. They want the best players available. Though they could really use the depth now.
It does matter IMO. We need better players than them but it'1s a long shot we get them. You have to hope they get bought out then hope they choose the rockets. The difference between green and Thabo is enough to make a difference. A little can go a long way with this team. Take last night for example. Our supporting cast could not make a shot but we still had a lead late because our stars are that good, but house making a 3 and layup in the last stretch broke the game open. A little boost from a bigger threat could end up being the difference. I'm hoping for Harkless of course but if we can't get him I don't see much else out there that has the tools we are looking for like green.
Sign me up for the threesome Harkless Spellman Bolden Harkless would be my first choice, as he's the best defender.
One things for sure, Thabo has been solid lately If we could pick up another 6'8 guy that plays defense and can shoot the three, we might have something here guise
Harkless is a buy out candidate? why would the knicks buyout a 26 year old wing with a decent size expiring with value? or is this the assumption the knicks are just gonna knicks
It's more a guess than anything. I thought i read the Knicks will accommodate him if he asks for it. As he is from the area, he might not ask for it... BUT so far he's 0-playing time with the Knicks. As for expiring value... what do you mean? He's a FA this offseason. He can't be traded anymore. The Knicks buying him out doesn't hurt their cap space or somehow remove some asset from the Knicks. The only reason the Knicks should keep him is if they plan on playing him, think he's a good fit, a good locker room presence, and/or potentially want to keep him around next year. Outside that, the only reason not to buy him out is if he just doesn't want to be.
The knicks are not buying him out. Harkless is a New York native on a good contract, he's happy to be there and they're happy to have him
He's on an expiring contract. He's a FA after this season. That's why the Knicks have (rumored) said if you want a buyout, we'll give it to you. They'd save some money and lose nothing. Harkless is an UFA... he can sign with the Knicks in the offseason if he/they want.
Harkless is great, but I don't see them buying him out. I'm not sure who we can expect to get bought out this year.
