Bulls looking to trade for Melo and the Knicks are listening.

Melo is not as good as some people make him out to be. Great scorer? Sure, but nothing much else which is why he will never win.

 

If you consider both ends of the court, Butler can indeed be equal to or better than Melo this coming season and thereafter.

For the sake of roster balance and team chemistry, this trade could make sense for the Bulls because I don't think Rose and Butler will ever get along. That relationship is permanently poisoned.

 

No he didn't. He was infact for a large portion of the season awful.
Pau has more of a case than being second banana than Rose this season.

Why do people saying that? That was only a rumour made by a journalist who hates the management.
If they have trouble it's nothing personal it was role related.
And that was with Thibs not having a real offensive system in place AND with Rose being in and out of lineups and playing awfully.
Now with Hoidberg there will be no problem regarding to offensive roles. (the defence on the other hand ...and let's see how he makes Rose stick to Hoidball .MAJOR potential for trainwreck..)

Melo's>

Having a better season and being the better player are 2 different things. Butler's a very good player but you're getting carried away. Despite a bad season, Melo's still a elite player that can single handedly change the outcome of any game. He's simply in a different league

I don't think anyone, fan or executive, would take Melo over Butler right now. The only thing Melo is better at is scoring, Butler is better at everything else

Well the thing about Melo is that he should be on the decline and he had one major surgery. So we don't know if this bad season is a prologue for things to come or not.
If they were both at the same age I would pick Melo. But Butler is now in his peak and his new contract should give prime years.
(However I think that Melo's game will age very well -barring injuries- and Buttlers will not. But the age difference is too much).

Peak Melo >> Peak Buttler (if that's his peak).
