Calm down man. They are just doing their due diligence. They have to make sure their top free agent targets know they are interested.
He's redundant on that team...if Bulls get rid of Boozer, Gibson and Noah start. Unless Gibson starts on bench again which would be weird since Gasol is more C than PF.
Looks like OKC is the frontrunner for him right now actually. Scary idea to think replacing Perk with Gasol in the west. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>RT <a href="https://twitter.com/ramonashelburne">@ramonashelburne</a>: In a surprising twist, OKC has come on strong with Pau Gasol, and described as a "frontrunner" for the Spaniard.</p>— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/statuses/484471203705675776">July 2, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
What's more surprising: Gasol to Bulls because they know thy cant get Melo or Gasol to Bulls because they already have Melo?
I sure hope the Thunder don't get him. He's a dream fit though for the Spurs in their post-Duncan years. If this is Duncan's last season, who would be a better replacement for the next 4-5 years than Pau?
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Pau Gasol Addendum No. 2: Hearing Pau, as with OKC, indeed giving legit consideration to San Antonio if he looks at places where $ is scarce
Gasol, one of the game's true pros, is looking for the "best mix of money and winning," source says. SAS, OKC, LAL, CHI, NYK, MIA in hunt. 8:01 PM - 2 Jul 2014
Knicks can't offer money nor can they offer winning, so they're out of the mix. Gasol makes too much sense for the Spurs. They're international team, its one of largest Spanish speaking cities in the US. His personality fits with their team (whereas it really doesn't with the Miami mafia). He can speak Spanish to Ginobli, and Splitter also probably speaks Spanish considering he played in Spain for a number of years. Don't really see him fitting in OKC, I mean he'd be great for their team but he really wanted out of Memphis back in the day and OKC is a comparable market size to Memphis. Spurs are similar but at least there are other factors the Spurs have over OKC.
