Why do people hold a grudge against Adams?

Did Houston get a new team because the NFL wanted to come back to the Astrodome? Hell no. It was a crappy crappy crappy football venue.

The city did not want to build anything after they tore down that scoreboard and so then Adams did the best thing for his team. The only reason we have MMP and Reliant is because adams took the Texans away and even then the vote just barely passed for the new venues.

Houston blew it and now we are stuck with the 0-49493432432 Texans.

When Bud wanted to move to Jacksonville he gave the city a list of relatively expensive demands to stay that included renovating the Astrodome. Before the dust had settled from those renovations he was demanding a new stadium or he would move to Tennessee. That and the fact that he wears a dead opossum on top of his head kind of put people off the man.

Yeah ... I'd rather have an NFL team without Bud and that is what we have

Yeah, Bud is so great, I really want an owner who goes on tv and flips off an entire city.

Here's the problem with Bud. He told the city that we HAD to spend millions to improve the Astrodome or they would move the team to another city. We did. In fact, taxpayers are STILL paying off that debt.

Not 10 years later, he demanded that build a new stadium.

I personally think it was a big mistake to allow the Oilers to leave. By doing so, we cost the city/county several hundred million dollars that were spent on Reliant Stadium, a retractible-roof stadium Bud asked for and said he would pay nearly half the cost to build. We made a mistake.

But, I also understand why everyone was pissed. You can't ask taxpayers to spend money for a new stadium while they are still paying for renovations you demanded.

He also made sure Houston could never use the name Oilers again.

Actually, the Bud-dome was modeled more like the Alamadome... and there was never a plan for a retractable roof.

Bud moving the team was a collective wake-up call. All the franchises got new stadiums, probably as a result of the fear of relocation that he now instilled in the city.

The honeymoon is over for Bob McNair. Sure he's the good guy that brought the NFL back to Houston, but he's hired idiots to run his organization. or is he the idiot for hiring them?

Yes die hard Texan fans, i know you blindly hate every team in the NFL, but you look at the bad teams last year who were just as bad as us:

    San Fran
    New Orleans
    Titans

their management made great decisions and IT ALL STEMMED FROM THE TEXANS screwing up.

how do you know every year is another year that Bob McNair screws up on drafting a hometown hero? What if some awesome player from UH, A&M, or RICE wanted to play for the Texans?

You brainless diehard Houston (only 713 area code, everyone else burn) gonna say what? where's that stupid arguement that Austin fans are the only ones rooting for Vince.

I was at that game clearly the CITY OF HOUSTON was rooting for Vince Young. Thanks Bob McNair.

I heard plenty of cheering when VY was sacked etc. I was too. You are delisional. The Austin Titans are not supported here more than the Texans. The Austin virus hasn't totally infected this city like your town.

your town sure sells LOTS OF Titans Jerseys tho.

I will give you Texan fans a break if McNair replaces Aramark as the concessions provider.

    Here's the IRONY:

Vince Young grew up SIX MILES away from the Relaint.
They DID NOT PICK VINCE YOUNG.

PAPPADEUXs is WALKING DISTANCE from Reliant!!!
    They DID NOT PICK PAPPADEUXs.

Its clear, the Texans don't like Houstonians.

They choose Aramark, a company based in Philadelphia. I'll never forget that stale popcorn that they served me. the popcorn was in the popper and you KNOW that popcorn popper WAS NEVER USED.

Bob McNair deserves his stale popcorn.

If stale popcorn is a life-changing moment for you, you really need to get out and around more.

    its about business,
    ENRON lovers.

you can't piss out off the consumers.
you can't have ECOLI in your tacos. not good for business.
if you are fine paying $5 for stale popcorn, than ARAMARK wins.

Aramark's also got the concessions for MMP. Aramark is the leading sports concessionaire and usually fans don't care that much about who gets the concessions since you don't root for a concessionaire when you got to a game.
