Wouldn't want that prima donna here, plus he's not that good anything except shooting and we already have Barry.
He was in a dream situation as a 3-point shooter, being a teammate of LeBron's. And even with that he was complaining. Who'd want him at this point?
I can't stand him either but wouldn't go that far. He owes Dwyane Wade 90% of the contract he got from Cleveland. Once he left Miami, the NBA found out Damon was a complete fraud.
Meh, his greatest claim to fame is that he impregnated Tina Thompson. He's the worst type of player, a mediocre to average player that thinks he's better then he actually is.
You're letting your distaste of his personality get in the way of ably observing what has been a good NBA player. His turns in Milwaukee (one of the best passing guards in the league that year, check the stats), Sacramento (minuscule turnover ratio), Detroit, and that one year in Miami proved that he was a fine player in his prime. One of the better third or fourth guards in the NBA, in fact. And he was fine in his first year in Cleveland, hitting nearly 40 of his three-pointers. Coach Clueless' aversion to offense meant he barely saw any time. Now 32, he's too slow. And that's the case with a lot of guards his age. The wheels fall off around 30, 31. Look at someone like B.J. Armstrong.
Which player will still have a constructive career in the NBA* Damon Jones or Mike James or neither? <hr> * I realize that Mike James still has his contract, but not sure how much meaningful playing time he will get as a key rotation player.
