Jordan Hill, Patrick Patterson, Aaron brooks, Chase budinger, Kyle lowry, Chuck hayes, Jermaine Taylor, Shane battier, Trevor ariza, NY picks.. now who is # 1 .....
Gortat is not overpaid, Bass is not overpaid, Nelson is not overrated, Pietrus is not overpaid, Ryan Anderson is not poormans padgett, Redick is not wayyyyy overpaid, Duhon is not useless, Qrich is not next to useless.... yeah, my reasoning is as detailed as yours. case settled.
If he did this he would have a tarnished rep, and he doesn't have a no trade clause. Unless he has one he really can't be a prima donna about where he goes.
Reddick, Duhon and Richardson can't be traded until after Dec. 15. Why would NO want Nelson and his almost $16M remaining for the next two years when they have Collison? Gordat, Pietrius and Anderson is a great package? NO wants to commit to 4 years of Gordat's deal? How does trading those guys help NO get any cap relief? Is NO going to take another contract along with Paul? What about draft picks? Orlando doesn't own any extra first rounders and their pick would be in the late twentys at best. Looks like NO would get no cap relief, some guys who currently don't even start and not much in the way of draft picks. I personally don't see the appeal from a NO perspective.
But every team in the NBA knows he can play, so they'll overlook it. I mean come on, if you were a team he wanted to play for, would you really care if he screwed some other team?
Why does he supposedly want to play in Orlando? So he can hang with his buddies down the highway? This is getting rediculous. Sorry, ludicrous is the word I was looking for.
Chuck Hayes: overpaid scrub. Battier: overpaid and old. Lowry: overpaid bench player. NY picks: not much. Taylor: bust. Hill&Patterson: unknown, gamble. Ariza, AB, Chase, good assests but they are also Rockets' future. Ariza+Battier+AB+picks........this offer beats anyone for sure but would Rockets go all in for two year rental? Magic can offer anything because they know Paul loves to play for them.
People, look at the salaries, and then do your observation People mentioning random assets, but they have bad contracts Let´s see Chris Duhon 4 year 3,5M per y, old PG when they have already Collison JJ Redick 3 years 6,5M per y, not a great contract Marcin Gortat 4 year 7M per y, bad contract etc And you know, if you have financial problems, thats is why they don´t want Okafor´s contract, you don´t sign guys that are backups in other teams, that have long and big contracts, that will not make you contenders, because these guys are at their prime or passed the prime, only Ryan Anderson is a great asset, Nelson already proved that he is not elite, Colison will be better All the assets mentioned, have value, but those contracts are huge THE QUESTION Will NO only deal CP3 if Okafor is dealt??? And what about Okafor?? Will Magic pay 12M per y for a backup??? Don´t tell me this is a 3 deal team, because no one in the league wants that contract These are the questions no one makes, because the media hype, wants Magic and NY to land CP3, when teams like HOUSTON or DALLAS have bigger probabilities of landing him Meanwhile DM is working his phones, and will make the best offer, simply because NO ONE WANTS/CAN TAKE OKAFORs CONTRACT And with question marks on Yaos future, I would not be surprised, if Houston lands CP3 and Okafor, that Ming is traded closer to the Trade deadline Keep hyping those teams, I LOVE IT In GOD MOREY I trust PeAcE
Vince Carter's expiring contract + Nelson + ??? for Chris Paul + Okafor? Talked about this in another thread, but would the Magic do this? Will they take on Okafor if they can't get a third team?
We've discussed the merits of whether the Hornets would care for Brooks in the GARM, so why would those concerns not work for Nelson as well? They're about as equally good, from my perspective.
You are being too optimistic about Morey's ability to deal with NO. For one, we are in NO's division. Two, Orlando is more likely to give up it's assets to attain CP3 than Morey is to give up our's. Three, Rockets will not give up Yao because of the international money he produces to fill Les's coffers. Four, the magic's owner is close to dying so he'll pump out as much money as it takes to see a championship, even if that means taking on bad contracts like Okafor's.
Of course he does. The Knicks would be a silly kids dreams to think you can win anything there. Amare is almost as big a risk as Yao in injuries. Only his next one? Is definately career over status if it happens to his microfracture knees. They are not a good team and its very expensive to live there. Orlando instantly is favored to play the Heat in the Finals with Paul and Howard on the same team. He might as well favor the Rockets if he likes the Knicks. Even with him and Amare they are borderline as good as the Rockets maybe still below the Rockets.
Those players are either overpaid, or they just suck t begin with. New Orleans wants expiring contracts and cheap young talent, imo... Jordan Hill, Patrick Patterson, Aaron Brooks, Chase Budinger, Jermaine Taylor, Sergio Llull... etc... CHEAP... Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries... EXPIRING...
