Yeah, I remember being a pissed off kid squinting in front of our 20' TV while they shrank Game 5 of our Rockets finals. Now they're making a documentary about that day http://30for30.espn.com/film/june-17-1994.html
Typical friggin' ESPN....can't even mention Houston, the Rockets, Dream, any of it. Christ I hate them.
"It is June 17th, 1994. Lebron James was wearing a blue ranger mask, wondering what happened to Crystal Pepsi and schooling cats at Mike Tyson's punch-out, Tiger Woods was sleeping with his 10th grade teacher and Brett Favre was unsure about whether or not he would be returning for his 3rd NFL season".
Who gives a flying fart about Patrick "Chewing" Ewing and the Knicks FAILED bid for a championship? My god, I hate ESPN and their NY/NE media bias so damned much.
Dammit they even mention Ewing but nothing about the Rockets. There'll probably be a segment on where future MVP David Robinson is at and whatever the hell he's doing, and undoubtedly no mention of Olajuwon.
Dream was wrapping up a pretty mediocre year in 1994. Compared to Chewing who phailed in the Finals, Dream was only in the process of winning MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP, and the first championship in Rockets history. Looking back, obviously not worth a mention.
oh my fault. clearly you made a mistake in your link then. You obviously meant to link something off this site http://mybspn.com/ please correct yourself in your link if your thread title is correct
And people here get mad when others mention how ESPN doesn't give H-Town respect. Now you people see why.
i was pissed about it to, but fwiw, the Rockets did lose that game, albeit was a close one and to those who saw the commercial, they didnt even show any clips from the finals, so I'm not expecting much of a mention in this short
yep, exactly Olajuwon wasnt mentioned because its too easy, and a lot of people have won the MVP, DPOY and a Finals MVP, Ewing did that a lot.
