agreed. suns need to offer the 4th year player option and come up the slightest amount to let Bledsoe save face. Otherwise, there's not much he can do... and as noted, even taking the qualifying offer would put him behind a max offer next year for a while still...

I like the RFA process, but do think the qualifying offer should be higher... not sure how they'd determine it... maybe the team decides what the qualifying offer $ amount is, but then is limited by how much over that they can go per year to sign the player. Say if they could only go 150% over the qualifying offer. Meaning the Suns would have to offer $8 million in a one year qualifying offer to be able to then match him at $12 million a year. That way a team could then come through and offer him a bigger deal and know the Suns wouldn't be able to match. it'd be an interesting twist at least...

I agree that they need to adjust the qualifying offer. Right now it's a no-brainer for a player that's showed promise. I'd put it at something like 50% to 2/3rds of the max with a player option 2nd year. That might make teams think it through a little more.

A qualifying offer for a quality player is like an extra point in football.....a sure thing.

Could the Suns trade Bledsoe if he agrees to take the qualifying offer? Or can he not be traded till December?

Perhaps good news for those wanting to trade for Bledsoe. Perhaps the Lin exception plus the Pellies pick could make the numbers work.

Definitely makes a Bledsoe sign and trade possible. Accepting the qualifying offer almost guarantees he won't resign next season. Pelicans pick would be a nice consolation prize if he's gone anyway.

By accepting the QO, Bledsoe also has the right to veto any trades. He would have to want to come to Houston in order to be traded here. If traded to Houston, not sure the Rockets would inherit any bird rights. Since the QO acts as a

Since the QO acts as a one year contract, he shouldn't be trade eligible until Dec. 15th. This of course could just be a negotiating ploy by him to force a sign and trade somewhere for the contract he wants.

correct on he can veto off Larry coons FAQ

on if we would get his bird rights. off larry coons FAQ in respect to QO trades
basically untradeable to any team which is more than likely not going to have alot of cap room next summer unless they can get him on the super cheap and are going all in next season and realise they wont be able to resign him going fwd

    It ain't over yet.

What, Dragic is the only option out there?

Our GM is Trader Daryl and you think this is it, roster-wise?

Wonder if Bledsoe's people are posturing. He's taking a risk, what with his injury history.

I forgot about the no trade clause when you take the qualifying offer.

Bledsoe would be in the drivers seat if he did that. The Suns would have to trade him where ever he wanted to go or loose a asset for nothing.

I wonder if the Suns will blink. Doubt it. This could get awkward.

Suns could end up regretting it if they don't sweeten the contract offer
    so Bledsoe can save face.
