I don't think the owner would care about picking up Asik's balloon payment. Asik and DMo for AK, Teletovic and Blatche. Not exactly a barn burner but for the price of a couple of disgruntled players we save a little this year and next, have smaller easier to move salaries (all expire next season) and can make our bench even deeper. Blatche can back up Dwight, Teletovic can be our new PF project and AK can be our 6th man.
Aw man. Feel sorry for this guy. Yao Ming all over again. Probably the best offensive center in the game, but his feet just can't hold up to the pounding of the NBA schedule. Sad. Like many have said already, seems like they genuinely have a need for a starting center suddenly. I wonder what team would just so happen to have one of those laying around. Too bad that don't have much to offer though.
Yao Ming was my first thought. Have no opinions on Brook as a player or person, but man, that really sucks.
I won't go for Joe Joe because he had one or two games of great shooting and setting record. Pierce is washed up.
Jeffrey Taylor has been lost for the 2013-14 season due to a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the Charlotte Observer reports.
At $20 million per year, D-Will is a liability that puts a team in salary cap jail. Do not want. Re-signing Chandler is a much smarter option for the Rockets.
A deal for KG would likely result in PP being released and signing outright with the same team KG is with.
I could totally see this happening. Morey doesn't have a history of paying high salaries to aging stars on the downside of their careers so I don't see Garnett, Pierce, or Williams headed our way. But a perimeter defender, a back up for Dwight, and young big ALL with contracts that come off the book after next season ? Combine that with a desperate Nets team owned by an eccentric billionaire ? This feels right.
Actually, the Nets would save a lot of money by trading for Asik and/or Lin's contract. That's how much LT they are paying.
