The Raptors will announce the release of forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu on Tuesday, according to NBA league sources.

However, Toronto hopes to re-sign Mensah-Bonsu to a 10-day contract if he clears waivers.

Mensah-Bonsu's contract required the Raptors to make a decision this week, with the remainder of his $825,497 salary becoming guaranteed if he appears on the team's roster beyond Jan. 5.

The Rockets didn't want him the first time round. Why would they want him now?

It was not that they didnt want him but they wanted "roster flexibility" with You-Know-Who gone he may be able to come back and give us some shot blocking ability

I would definitely much rather have him than Dorsey.

I would really like him on the bench for instant energy BUT until Tracy is gone or the deadline passes I'd be suprised to see a roster move as it might hurt the flexibility they do have.

We still need the flexibility for Tracy right? How many people are on our roster right now, 14? Even if it's 13, we could easily need to take on 3 players to match Tracy's huge contract.

He brought great energy from the bench the seldom time he did see minutes but we already have enough of that don't we? I'd think so.

Mikey Harris doesn't even say PT so why would Pops?

It was a premature move on the rockets part to waive him so quickly... I like him for some insurance... Stupid Brian cook and his stupid contract.

I like his game but we don't have room for another power forward.

I rather pick up Wafer once his injuries heals and he can actually pass his physical.

I second the Wafer over Pops move. DA is improving enough to be the garbage minutes man. We don't need Pops.
