Exactly. Apparently this guy is pissed the Texans can't see into the future. What a weird reason to be upset.
Hurrrrrrrrrrrr? You think Cushing's contract was too much considering his ACL? Dealwithitdog.gif Almost everyone would disagree with you.
i'll find it, but in Cushing's own words: "“This is kind of (unusual) to get a deal like this coming off an ACL.”" http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2013/09/brian-cushing-signs-contract-extension-with-texans/
I repeat, in cushing's own words: “This is kind of (unusual) to get a deal like this coming off an ACL.” http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2013/09/brian-cushing-signs-contract-extension-with-texans/
I'll try to make this simple, you seem to struggle with this. The ravens chose not to pay Flacco and allowed him to go into free agency, he performed and ended up being grossly over-paid The texans chose to extend Cushing before free agency believeing he would perform and they would save money long term, and keep a player happy If the Ravens knew flacco was gonna win a SB, i can guarantee you they would have signed him early and saved millions. Cushing got hurt, s**t happens.
Dude, if we let cushing hit FA, we would probably give him the EXACT contract as we just handed him. My point is there was no reason to ink cushing up until the season was over because as you say "people get hurt". And two big time left knee injuries would have given the texans the upper hand at the negotiating table.
And you criticize them for this, why? You realize Cushing came back 100% and was playing at a top 5 LB level, right? What is your point? The Texans "took a risk" and it paid off, ergo I'm mad?
And once again, you have no way of knowing that would happen. It's just as likely Cushing wins DPOY and the Texans make a deep playoff run (actually, him getting hurt badly is probably LESS likely). You cannot hold that against the Texans without looking like a damned fool with an axe to grind.
uhhhh hold on a minute. cushing has been far away from top 5 ILB this season. his play has been wildly inconsistent and maddening. Just check out his PFF scores.
There is always a bad team willing to outspend a cap hamstrung good team (see Mario Williams). If Cushing finished the year playing at a pro bowl level, he would have made more than we offered him.
your argument is weak and baseless. we did not need to extend cushing. simple as that. we did not save money, and now he has a 2nd bad knee injury. it's a terrible contract.
I dont care if Jamaal Charles breaks his leg this season...for the only game i really wanted to sit down and watch, i had gotten screwed by my folks having me do errands during the entire freaking afternoon...arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
