Greg Cook said on the radio that the feeling is that this is far worse than a torn ACL. It sounds like a total knee reconstruction is going to be needed and he is definitely gone for the year. On another note, the play looks cheap on replay, but as Texans fans we can only complain so much. Our guys do stuff like that all the time. We have a really bad rep around the league for the cut blocks.
We cut block, but we don't have a reputation for being dirty about it. There's a reason you're not allowed to do it in space or from behind.
Yes we do. It's not talked about in Houston but when you go to forums where fans of other teams talk they talk about. When articles are posted on ESPN like this you'll see comments from other teams fans about our rep for being dirty. The only part of the block that was illegal was that he was outside of the tackle box.
Hopefully that MLB from notre dame gets caught with weed or something and slips to the texans in the draft.
I've been wishing that same thing for a while now. Wouldn't mind having that old guy DeMeco on the team right about now.
To me the NFL must set an example and set a steep punishment for this quite obvious cheap shot. In my opinion, if you let plays like this go (and a 50K fine or a 1-game suspension isn't cutting it), then all this "player safety" talk is mere lip service, and the NFL really doesn't care about its players. To me, the most fair suspension is along the lines of an eye for an eye. This dirty pos should be suspended however long that Cushing is out. It's really the only way to deter premeditated cheap shots. Trade a 1 game suspension for 11.5 games due to an injury inflicted to a top defense's heart and soul? Doesn't exactly seem fair to me. If you came down that hard on Bounty Gate, to me it would be hypocritical to not come down hard on this douche.
