    This.

And yes, SwoLy, it could be partially torn. I never had my partially torn ACL repaired (sustained in 1991). Of course, I can no longer do anything athletic. Also, one can walk with a completely torn ACL.

First post since the game. Cushing's injury caused this reaction last night:

Then this morning reading the news after hoping for the best:

These Texans... I have so much invested in them after watching a decade of suckitude. I don't think I have ever been that nervous for a game, even the playoffs last year.

Here's to a speedy recovery Cush!

This is true. A buddy of mine back in high school tore his ACL playing football, but he was still able to walk. Granted, he did have a slight limp but he could walk.

Do you guys remember Marcus Robertson, safety from the Oilers? The guys tears his ACL on a play, was in pain on the field for a few minutes, and then runs off to the sideline. He had torn his ACL and missed the rest of the season.

Bummer about Cushing. I'm hoping he recovers fully and back to his old self next year.

FYI about Sharpton. He is currently on PUP. He is eligible to come off PUP after Sunday's game against the Packers. There is a three week window after Sunday's game when he can begin practicing with the team. Once he starts practicing the Texans will have three weeks to activate him onto the 53-man roster. So, the earliest he can play is in week 7 and the latest is week 12 (or maybe week 13 since we have a bye in there). If Sharpton isn't activated by then, he will automatically be placed on IR and out for the remainder of the season.

Im saying that walking has no bearing on what kind of knee injury he has. For those saying that he walked and it could mean no ACL tear...that's false.

I dont want people to get their hopes up and then get potentially bad news. I'd prefer expecting the worst and being pleasantly surprised.

You can walk just fine after a ACL tear in most cases. The problem comes soon after when it swells and gets super tight and painful. I blew out my ACL and meniscus playing basketball and after the normal screaming and knee grabbing I sat in a chair for about 15min and then proceeded to walk to my car and drive home.

Also, you can walk (sometimes) because going in a straight direction doesn't put much effort on the ACL.

However, when your going to make cuts and try to change directions, thats when your going to apply the pressure on it, and not be able to do it.

Damn man...that's like the difference between making the second round or not. Then in that case, I do wish ill upon this Matt Slauson fella. Sounds like a Bruce Bowen type of POS.

If that isn't an illegal block, it should be.

So is he officially ruled out for the season?

I know if he tore the ACL he will be done, but lets hope it minor.
