I know I know...we would have 8 point guards on this crazy roster if we were to sign him, but with yesterday's draft it is obvious that at least 3 maybe 4 (me thinks VSPAN, JLIII, Head and Rafer) will be gone before too soon for a legit power forward. If we do trade Rafer, who is our REAL PG?? Do you really want Mike James handling the ball and trying to distribute? I know Tracy handles the ball a lot but we CANNOT have him as our PG, because then it takes so much more away from the rest of his game....so a guy like Brevin Knight who is an ideal ball handling and distributing PG (I DEFINETLY like him over Rafer) would be a very nice solid veteran addition to this team for probably around the league minimum....Anyone else agree that bringing him in to an Adelman led offense might be a good idea???
lol...of course I mean that they either will be traded if they have value (head, rafer) or flat out cut/waived (more likely VSPAN, JLIII)
In theory if we had Knight he would my favorite to start. He can't shoot but his defense and ability to control the tempo would be nice. A great JVG pg. Probably too "half court" oriented for Adelman. It would be a luxury if he could become our defensive specialist PG ala Eric Snow with Cleveland.
Personally if it came down to either getting Francis or Knight...I would rather have Knight because there are already 2 similar types of players (James, Brooks) who bring scoring and energy off the bench than Knight who would bring stability , defense and controlling of the tempo
two sandwiches...if you actually take the time to read the thread instead of judging it by the headline...maybe u wouldnt be too dumb to call it an NBA thread rather than one actually pertaining to the Rockets
I can't believe we are actually inquiring about another guard? And for christ sakes it is the BOBCATS that realeased him... That should be enough to say NO!!!!!
i understand what your saying mr. threadstarter but we simply have enough guards under contract even if we trade 2 to get a PF. just too many
I always liked Knight and wished we traded for him a few seasons ago. He kinda broke down last year, but if he's healthy I don't mind picking him up at all. I would say goodbye to rafer definitely, because they are too similiar, try and trade JLIII and V-Span and keep Brooks as third string. Knight and James can tag team it, with Brooks coming in during garbage time or injuries.
knight is not bad at all. i like him and i wouldn't be against going after him...if we didn't already have SIX @!%^#&$ point guards. why don't we trade some of them first before we even consider another one.
id rather have Knight than James and Alston.. only problem is he is way too injury prone or his old injuries flare up alot. But if he stays healthy for atleast 70 games hes worth it.
We have to look at him because he seems to be an ideal pg only if we could figure out what to do with all the other pgs on our team
Very good distributor, very good defender (steals), bad shooter from long range. If he's willing to take the LLE, I'd throw it at him in a heartbeat. Then we can move Rafer and JL3 with absolutely no concerns.
Why would they all have to be traded to one team? For example: VSpan + Head for player A team 1 wants Sura + Lucas for player B team 1 wants player A + player B for player C team 2 wants player C + Alston + (maybe future pick) for fairly high valued (at least salary-wise PF) It's a lot of work, but Morey seems pretty active and coaching/management wants a lot of changes. I can only hope it is realized...
I've opened two threads tonight so far. In the first... In the second... Unwad your panties or put on a new dress, Nancy. Oh, and grow up.
