handled very classy on both ends. the rockets came after him hard and made their best sales pitch and brent was straight up and said the rockets were out. he could have kept mum and used us as leverage.

of course yao being out is the key factor, and who can blame him? id like to think that if yao was in we would have been the best fit for his services and he knew it. based on the way john berry was talking the other nite while calling the game i thought it sounded like he was going to come here.

Now that it is over with Brent Barry lets go out and get a big. Don't know which whould be better a verteran like PJ Brown or a young athletic big like Williams?

After thinking about it overnight, I think we should sign Justin Williams to a 2-year contract at the min, let him play as needed, and have him as an asset next year. I really like that kid. But he's not a center.

Makes sense. The only reason why we needed him was to be a compliment for Yao. I really wish we could've gotten Magloire. Frickn Mavs!

great effort by the rockets but it just adds to the depression. t-mac looks spry and young again and with yao plus barry the chance was right there for a championship. ugh.

You can't blame the guy for not wanting to come here after Yao went down.

Now if Yao was healthy and he had rejected the Rockets, then he's a moron.

That's fine. Give his minutes to Green and let him develop.

So long, Brent. We hardly knew ye. Actually, we didn't know you at all.

Good effort Morey et al. I tho't it was both a longshot and a questionable add owing to BB's leg issues.

I will continue to wish him as well as I always have. Not a Rock, not a care n my part.

Justin Williams, PJ, other - or stick with BJones? We may be short but we're also not tall.

We need a another big body anyways, wasting our last roster spot on him when we've got our guys doing some of their best 3pt shooting right now seemed pointless.

PJ might not come out of retirement. If Yao was healthy I would choose Bobby Jones over Justin Williams. We will have to see how Jones does over the 10 day period. If he doesn't do well, cut him and go for Justin provided if no one else picks him up.

Glad that this has come to a quick conclusion!
Please remind everyone concerned that there is a player playing for our D League Team who is shooting the lights out with three pointers. He deserves a chance and would be cheap which would please Les.
A 10 day contract wouldn't hurt anyone and you never know we might have a winner on our hands :p

I'm curious how much sway his brother, John had since he seemed to enjoy his time in Houston. Good to see Bidge and Bags helping out but how hard would it have been to get them to sign a bat?

Exactly, I was PRAYING that Barry didn't take the offer. We have enough guards and wing players now, we need size.
