Brent needs to hang with Brooks to give him experience and wisdom... Brooks needs to give Barry some ice water so his play becomes more COLD BLOODED.
am i confident when he shoots it's going in?? are you kidding me? i see him shoot and my eyes light up and my hand is automatically raised in the 3 pt sign EVERY TIME, he has some bad games, but overall he is a great addition to the team, he is not a walking turnover, he does try to make fancy passes, but they don't end up as turnovers often, he averages less than a turnover a game in 53 games around 16 minutes a game, that aint bad. i swear yall have the worst case of amnesia when it comes to people's game
Agreed on wanting to see Barry become more trigger-happy. At 6'7" and with his quick, high release his shot is nearly impossible to block. It's not like he's out there to do anything else, anyway.
Not against Utah, where he missed all of his wide open 4 3s. But I agree, he's been streaky. But it is not suprise for me. When you are a shooter, you need to have a nice rythm. To have a rythm you need to play consistent minutes.
Barry's hard to figure out. In recent games, he seems to play pretty well in the first half, but mediocre or worse in the second. He and Wafer have been playing quite a few minutes together, especially with Landry out, but they have made many costly mistakes on defensive switches. My feeling at this point is that Barry will give the Rockets some valuable spot moments in the playoffs, but it's best to be selective about his minutes.
Barry started out the season playing horrible. Then he started to come around. But then Adelman had him sit out a few games. I think he lost his rhythm and has struggled again ever since then.
SA was smart to let Barry leave and sign Roger Mason to replace him. If only we could have signed Mason or Barnes ourselves
Oh please. Hes the most inconsistent rocket. He has some bad games? Please do me a favor and refresh my memory, when was his good game?
Your post makes me wonder why no clutch NBA player is known as "The Lizard" I guess after you have a guy nicknamed "The Mamba" it takes the bite out of any other reptile nicknames.
There's no excuse for missing an uncontested fast break layup/dunk in the NBA. None. It's like shooting <60% (and that's pretty generous) from the free throw line. Pathetic.
I think barry is tying to do little bit of everything too much. he is a 3-pt specialist and he should stick it to. I doubt barry is going to come back next season as wafer could use his minuates. barry can't create his own shot and i think he got problem realizing that. we need him to camp at the 3 to stretch the defense a bit.
I think we should TRY James White in Barry's minutes for a few games. Barry's not exactly been very productive this season. For those that will say hes not ready or the coach will have played him, I have absolutely zero confidence that Adelman knows when a player is ready/should play. See: Mutumbo, Wafer(after Tmac came back). All I said is try, you want to know what you can use for the playoffs. The worst that could happen is we'd lose a few points, a turnover, and maybe an assist in the last remaining regular season games.
That statement would be relevant, if it had been uncontested, i'm pretty sure there was a defender there, maybe 2.
i dont think he's trying to create his own shot at all, he's either shooting 3s or dribbling around to get guys open, he's not really looking to take shots himself unless it's a 3 or he has an open midrange look. The problem is that the defense knows he's not athletic enough to take it inside, so when he dribbles they know he's going to pass so they're ready and swipe it. Barry's shot has definitely been streaky this year and he's had some bad turnovers off of slow bounce passes, but sometimes he, and other rockets, get blamed for playing badly in a BAD SITUATION. Like people complaining about barry's airball 3 when he had no choice but to jack it up when wafer dumped it to him with 1 sec ont he clock. Or that Barry was in there at some point with a very bad offensive team, so he's forced to try and create, which isn't his thing anymore. In the future, fans should look at the big picture instead of seeing every action as individual and not affected by other actions.
Barry against the Lakers. 12 minutes. 1-2 fg. 1 rebound. 1 assist. 1 steal. 2 turnovers. 2 points. He's improving!
