He cemented his place in my heart after that gritty effort against the Lakers, going down injured and then returning to the game. That scene in the tunnel of the Staples Center in which Keith Jones had to drag him to the locker room is one of the most passionate, emotional times I have been through with this team in a long time. And to think, that was the last meaningful game he will ever play. Very sad.
Thanks for re-energizing a lot of the rockets fan base Yao. You are solely responsible for bringing a lot of us youngsters into bleeding rockets red. Your perseverance and work ethic will be greatly missed. Good luck in your future endeavors!

There is always the possibility of unretiring in a year or two. That is what he always needed. Maybe stop non-stop rehab with the pressure of trying to return in the next season. Many a player has missed the game after a year or two. If not, it will allowe the Rockets to move on. Very sad.
