Damn. I know it's stupid, but I was still hoping for a miracle.

Suprising. I guess he isn't healing good enough. I thought he would at least wait till he was ready to step back on the court.

My heart is broken. I will miss Yao. Definitely one of my favorite Rockets of all time, it's too bad he couldn't come back from these last few injuries.

very sad the way he walked off that court in LA. started to love this team again, not just follow them. i was ready for them to shock the world. oh well, as everyone says, great guy, how can you not root for him. but i'm not sad, stopped putting him in the plans over a year ago.

I'm both sad and relieved to hear this.

I love Yao. Forever a fan. I really hope he stays connected to the Rockets somehow.

    Goodnight, sweet prince.

I think Yao made the best decision for him and his family.

Thank you big fella for all the memories and good luck for your future endeavors.

I'm sure Yao will forever be part of the Rockets family.

Knew this day would come but it' still a shock that it's actually happening. As great a person as he is and all of the hard work he put in, he deserved so much more success. Thank you for your efforts big man, best of luck in your new ventures.

At least we stunned the lakers in game 1 when he came back through the tunnel to nail that jumper. He had phil jackson shaking in his heels after that game!........peace out yao.

What a damn shame. I would have loved to see him succeed with the Rockets. :( I hope he will have a good post career whatever he decides to do!

    Goodbye, Yao. :(
