He's a solid player, but there's probably a reason as to why Morey didn't offer him more then he did. I'd say we try to accquire a legit big man, not a project. A proven guy who can defend and grab boards, like Marcus Camby.

Those of us you're talking about knew there's no such thing as a healthy Yao. It doesn't exist. It hasn't existed for about 5 seasons. That's why we've been wanting to move forward.

It's like saying we'd be championship contenders with a 30 year old Hakeem at center...there is no 30 year old Hakeem anymore.

Not really shocked but I sorta kept hope that the injury karma meter was filled and that from now on we could at least enjoy some limited Yao on the bench to work with. Now? Seems that the only way for Yao to play in the NBA is to have him sit in a wheel chair and use that to move around the court. Even in a wheel chair, Yao should still be taller than half the league.

    This just seems odd.

Does Yao have anything to say about this?

I feel really sorry for him. I think he will retire now.

Somehow, I have very little trust in the Rockets' medical staff, specifically this Clanton guy.

Can't blame the Rockets. Yao is a giant with weak bones.

It was fun having Yao on the team. He was valiant, tried hard, and had a great spirit and attitude. I'm sorry that his body was unable to endure the rigors of the NBA. I'm happy that he was a Rocket and not on any other team.

It was great proving people wrong who thought he'd be a Shawn Bradley. Sorry that his injuries have effectively ended his career.

Time for the Rockets to move forward.
