Yeah my mistake. I assumed it was ALL regardless of conference, so instead of 12 East 12 West it is 24 from the NBA, with the 2 most popular picking their team. MY bad - still 12 and 12 but a mix between those 12s!
The selection process will be more fun than the game itself, which doesn't say much. The only way to make the game real competitive is to have some selfish incentive for winning. For example, the losing team has to donate 20% of their salaries to charities
