Ha! That's great. I hope they do the team selection only right before tip-off, just like playground rules. That will be very funny and dramatic for the crowd. But they will probably make team selection a special Televised event several days before the game.
Breaking news: Defense will still not be played; game score will still be 190-187 Can't wait to see who Zaza & Jerry Lin select for their respective teams!
Oh man! This actually should encourage people to stuff the ballot box for an obscure guy to be a captain.
Didn't the NFL do this for the Pro Bowl? Lasted for a few years and reverted back. Most likely this is going to be a bust.
curry will the fan vote and select every warrior players why not just get the 24 best players in the league based on advanced stats and PER.,.. but of course klay thompson and draymon green have horrible player efficeny ratings lol this is gonna help the warriors more than anything i bet and klay will start over harden and butler
Who gets snubbed out of the West... S. Curry R. Westbrook J. Harden K. Durant D. Green C. Paul A. Davis K. Anthony-Towns K. Leonard D. Lillard P. George B. Griffin ______________ M. Gasol K. Thompson R. Gobert C. McCollum J. Butler N. Jokic Not saying that all of these guys deserve to go, but someone is going to "feel" snubbed.
feeling snubbed isn't anything new to the all star game. players will get left out that are deserving. take for example, mike conley isn't even on your list and hes been an all star caliber player for years, yet has never made one. its just unfortunate hes in the west
Was going to, but his numbers are pretty modest, if you don't count last season, compared to the averages of the other players I listed... even those outside the top 12. For him the assists have been there, but the highest point total (again excluding last season) was 17 PPG... that's middle tier if you ask me. Marc has been about the same scoring wise, on the same squad... but he also give you an all around game for a inside the paint big man, which is a position being phased out of the game. So maybe one year... for years? Highly doubtful.
sure has. how people seem to so easily overlook him is pretty bad imo. whens the last time memphis had a losing season being led by mike conley and gasol. his impact on winning is on par with what a true all star is. true all stars are not guys that lead their teams to consistent losing. and all the more impressive being in the tough west
So the old format was a popularity contest amongst the fans....... ...... and now it's become a popularity contest amongst the players? Sounds even $hittier
reading the actual full story from the link posted by OP would help There will still be 12 players selected from each conference for the game in Los Angeles on Feb. 18. Five players from each conference will be selected as starters, with the fan vote being worth 50 percent, player vote worth 25 percent and media vote worth 25 percent. Seven reserves for each team will be picked by each conference's head coaches. The new system will enable players from each conference to play against each other and will allow current teammates to face off.
Like it. CP show leadership. I wish they play for something that make it more competitive then just pride.
