Braxton Miller - Texans 3rd round pick, 85th overall

Yeah, no third rounders have ever developed into something good. Once they all drop passed the 2nd round, they kinda suck.

 

Well yeah, he's incredibly raw and him ever mastering the WR position isn't a given.

3rd round picks are still expected to be major contributors.

 

Similar to the strong pick in that they're both projects

 

Yeah that's why I don't like this as much as the other picks.

Risky picks that have mostly busted so far.

I don't think it's a reach per se, just another project when we have holes to fill

 

Yep and Tom Brady was 5th or 6th round

I think it's very much a BOB draft

 

I think Strong could break out this year

 

But all of them were/are expected to be major contributors... That was my point. If a 3rd round pick doesn't play well, it's a dissapointment (as we have seen with Nix and Fido). As far as the draft goes, a player "falling" to the 3rd round mean very little in terms of future expectation.

I agree that they need to get something consistent out of round 2-4... Winning teams do this.

 

Agree third rounders should be major contributers.

Looking at the team, he'll be at best the fourth option behind Hopkins, Miller (good receiver himself) and Fuller. And that's assuming he beats out Shorts, Mumphery, and Strong (who was a 3rd rounder himself) and we haven't even considered TEs.

Unless he's gonna have some big special teams/wildcat/backup RB role?

I love the approach the team is taking. The Bet Defense is a good Offense.

 

Defense is littered with high picks, so I like the attention to offense now.

 

Somebody tell Antonio Brown to stop putting up hall of fame numbers and start performing like a 6th round draft pick.
