A few things, and I say all this knowing he was playing against mostly scrubs : He started the game either nervous, rusty, or both because he was bricking everything from outside and even bricked a layup from what I recall. As the game went on, he got better with the shot. Although the game wasn't a run-and-gun affair, it looked like he was (more?) comfortable running On defense, he really didn't do much initially since a lot of SLC's game revolves around their bigs and Willie Reed. Most of the time Knight's man just stood or floated outside around the 3 point line. He mostly watched the ball go inside. When isolated one-on-one, he did get blown by at least 2 times that I saw and picked up fouls doing so (at least on one of those blow-bys). Not sure if this is because he couldn't stay in front or he was just taking it easy the first game back, or he was just letting them go to get their shot blocked inside. He only played about 3 quarters -- I don't recall him playing in the 4th. In those 3 quarters, he spent maybe 1-1.5 quarters playing off the ball in more of a SG role.
I thought the pass to Edwards was a good one, the rest were lacking in accuracy. I think he should get better with time.
Knight has never been a good passer so i wouldn't expect him to be a pg like Chris or James for us anyway, he's more a Lou Williams kind of player.
I wonder why we already recalled him? He probably would have benefited from at least 3-5 games in the G-League to get his timing and wind in sync.
Yeah, it is not included in that tweet quote but on the video MDA says BK has some ways to go. I am guessing it is about playing at "NBA game speed" that is the biggest hurdle right now. Particularly on defense.
Probably because D'antoni said he was a ways away and made it seem like he wasnt anywhere close to coming back. I want him back and contributing but dont bring him back unless he's healthy.
Perhaps and certainly that's not a valid reason. However, when you've been out that long just getting some PT seems important, especially since we're healthy (knock on wood).
He will need to play first before he can be traded. If he does better than expected, there may be fewer picks attached with him. He didn't look like junk with Vipers. That's why he is with the team right now.
