i agree it will too. he'll enter a rookie slump sometime down the year. and we'll see how he responds. but he's a superstar in the making. players like that will find ways to be effective even when they're struggling. and it appears he is a quick learner. i was truly impressed when he just toyed with chauncey billups a few games earlier. this game just left me speechless.
55, 5, and 5 tonight for jennings. he shot better from 3-point land than he did from the free throw line...
I'm with you. What he did tonight was clear cut evidence of a special player. I just think his shooting percentages will come down drastically, possibly even to supbar levels by the end of the season. Time will tell. He's special either way.
He will be extremely exhausted physically and emotionally drained from going for 55 pts. He is going to come down hard in the next game.
This is what I don't understand. Is he a great shooter, average or below average (which is what was advertised)? It's a long season.
I have the feeling that he's going to be relatively streaky early in his career. I know all shooters are streaky but I have a feeling his swings will be more extreme. It does seem like he has good enough form that it can become a strength at some point, maybe sooner than later.
I wonder what the list of rookies who scored 50 in a game looks like. I think Iverson was the last one but I cant think of anyone else who did besides Jabbar and Iverson. I tried to google it, but couldnt find anything.
One thing is for sure: Jennings has that "it" quality. That intangible something that few players possess. You don't want to overreact to one game but his potential is enormous. He can be a real scoring PG because he has those elusive true PG skills in the bag.
