They are not in 3rd they are in reverse. If they keep up like this the playoffs will just be a wet dream.
The media shouldn't be the ones killing him. The coaches should be. They should be showing his bad defense to him every day in the tape room. Mchale needs to take responsibility and force him to shape up.
Last time the internet came down on him he did something about it. Here's hoping that's what happens this time too.
I'll bet Adidas is looking for a clause that'll get them out of that $200 million contract right about now.
Jeeezz I saw all the stats of transition defence. Absolutely horrible. Not only PPP but also frequency. No.3 in worst PPP + no.7 in frequency => no.3 worst in total points scored in transition with 204 points. The worst is Philly with 239 points and they are much better in defending transition than the Rockets. We are also the top worst team at 89 points scored off isos and at putbacks with 97 points scored against.
That's embarrassing for James. Needs a Clutchfans poster to create a video, the internet to point out to realize "Oh ****, I suck on defense!" "Oh ****, I'm loafing!" This. Where is the coaching? Have the coaches pointed this out? Is James listening to the coaches? Do they watch film? Have the coaches "threatened" to bench him if goes out and loafs? For a so-called superstar, you need the media, the fans to point out you suck at something to change it, fix it? Does LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, so on and so forth need the internet or message board posters to "address" their deficiencies?
Wait a minute... Harden plays 38 minutes, if they get 12 points off of offensive put backs in just 10 minutes that's MUCH more alarming. Is it adjusted or am I right?
They aren't Harden either. Harden is Harden. If he needs outrage from the media and public to fix this issue every year so be it. If it works like that good. Because it will work in the end and the team will have some semblance of perimeter defence. Also Melo asked from the coaching staff to publicly critisize him during team video when he failed the defensive rotation. Apparently all these years they didn't. MAYBE they don't do it with Harden either. Who knows.
its a rate, which means it's adjusted for 48 minutes. Basically the opponent averages 16 offensive boards a game when harden plays, but when he doesn't they average 12. Basically, Harden alone, playing 38 minutes, gives up 3 offensive boards a game more than his backup.
yes it's adjusted. Always adjusted. I tried to find it myself at 82games.com but I have problem accessing this years' stats. This tweet goes with the previous tweet I quoted that shows rebound chances.
IIRC, it was that "Mr. Unreliable" front page story that prompted KD to turn a corner -- at least in part. Sometimes you need a kick in the ass, I guess. But I thought Harden had gotten his already.
Thanks. Even then, the 4 point disparity doesn't really jump out at me! Unless I'm still just missing something. +1
