fight wont happen unless ortiz wins his next fight.

I hope ortiz has gotten out of the habbit of allowing people to have free shots at him

I like both fighters. Canelo will probably win, but he is going to be roughed up by Ortiz no doubt.

Canelo is boxing's golden boy. Ortiz showed something against Berto, but he is too shaky. He wasn't looking good against Floyd, probably why he head butted him.

Hmm Canelo is naturally the bigger guy right? Ortiz has yet to fight at 154. GBP also announced that a 100k bonus will goto the fighter with the KO of the Night on the card.

Interested in seeing what the undercard would be. Their mantra for this card is "leave the judges at home". I wonder why.....lol

You're right, Canelo is definitely the bigger guy. Ortiz has technically only had 1 full fight at 147, which was against Berto, since the other one resulted in him trying to use his head instead of his fists, which resulted in getting KTFO!

The problem I have with this fight is that it will be a ****ing PPV fight. Showtime PPV at that. The reason of course is because of Mexican Independence Day... which is the day after the fight, but they're gonna cash in on the weekend. How they decided to make this a PPV fight is beyond me, but hey that is Golden Boy for you.

If Ortiz could get knocked out by Mayweather's soft hands he'll get murdered by Alvarez.

Ortiz is quicker than Canelo, but I think the body shots will do him in.

What? When the hell did I say that? I never even mentioned Mosley, I said Ortiz is QUICKER than Canelo. His footwork is just as good as Canelo's which is what makes him quick. You're all over the place, homey.

Right now, yes. But that's at 147. 7 pounds extra could slow him down a bit. Still quick enough to be able to get shots off and stick and move. Regardless though, Canelo will win. The Canelo bombs will be too much for Ortiz to withstand. I don't see this fight going the distance.

Ortiz weighed in at 165 when he fought at 147. He's not going to add 7 pounds, he's going to cut less weight.

The same reason they ppv many of chavez jr fights. Because mexican fight fans will pay to see canelo. Canelo, in their mind, is a superstar.

In Mexican fans minds? He is the Blake Griffin of Middle/Light Middle weights. In stardom and Appearance.

also, mexican boxing fans are some of the most educated about the sport. They will pay to see Iron Boy Calderon when most fans don't even know who he is.

yes, they like their warriors, but they appreciate boxing, period.
