Decent price? Isn't it like three bucks a person everywhere? If you're looking for discounted bowling, you may want to reevaluate your finances.

they use a prepay system. as long as you pay for your games before 2 at the latest, the games will be $1.29.

West as in Southwest --- Sugarland, Sharpstown, Alief?
West as in Northwest --- 290/Beltway
West as in West --- Katy

There are a few decent lanes in SW Houston. Emerald Bowl in Alief, the AMF off 90 near 59, and the Dynamic? Lanes of 59 and Hillcroft near the old Celebration Station.

Palace Lanes in Bellaire is nice. I believe new management has lowered their prices somewhat; they used to be more expensive than the others I listed (location).

I believe there are some lanes in the Marque center off 1-10 and Silber, but I'm not sure.

I'm not too familiar with the Katy area, but I am sure there are some nice places out there.

Thats why I have my own equipment.

    $100 for shoes
$200 per for balls(I currently have three)

and I only bowl outside league at the center I am a league member of, most every house will offer CHEAP open play for league members.(about 1-1.50 a game depending on the center)

considering this is my third season using the same equipment, it works out to pennies a game.

36 weeks X 3 games per week for fall season and 12 weeks at 3 per for the summer.

    yup. That's the system.

It sucks that bowling centers try to rape the once-a-year people like me. Makes me not want to come back.
