Just announced about an hour ago, Bruce Bowen has announced his retirement. Bowen either wanted to be a Spur next year, else he was retiring. Spurs officials made it clear he was not in their future plans... Lock if posted already... Cue the Scissor kick vids....
He will be remembered as one of the dirtiest players to play the game more than by his "famous" defense.
Somewhere, Dirk Nowitski, Ray Allen, Vince CarterWally Szczerbiak, and Josh Howard are throwing a party. It really is a shame Bowen felt the need to utilize dirty tactics. His defensive lateral quickness was unparalleled and, unlike some other "specialists" was actually a threat to hit an open shot...unless he was unguarded at the free throw line.
Good Riddance. Signed, Wally Szczerbiak Amare Stoudemire Ray Allen Steve Francis Vince Carter Steve Nash
Bruce was usually putting the cuffs on Marion while Amare was abusing "Timmy". Other than that, you're spot on.

I can't see the Flash (damn Blackberry) but I assume its a vid of Bruce guarding Amare. Trust that the majority of the game, Bruce was not on Amare. Switches and trick defenses happen, but there was no way Pop would choose Amare to guard over Marion, Nash, Barbosa, etc.
Wait...was that a vid of Bowen kicking a field goal with Amare's Achilles? If so, good call! LOL. Again, I can't see the vid....

They may have played different positions, but Bruce Bowen and Bill Laimbeer were the same type of sneaky dirty players; cheap shot you when you're not looking and then feign innocence just like those typical cheesy wrestlers caught with a steel chair in hand. They both won championships but wouldn't have survived in the NBA that long without resorting to their dirty tactics.
