Boston has a billion guards, and a couple weeks ago rumors were they were shopping Smart. What does everyone thing about a trade for him? He's young, got a lot of potential, plays good d and could be a good backup scoring guard off the bench. Probably fairly cheap.
If they were shopping him, they were asking for a lot in return... which is why nothing happened. The Rockets don't have a lot to give. They barely have a little to give.
Yes, I'd definitely take him, but word is that they are looking for a bigger return. He's on a 2yr/6.7m deal
/thread. Rockets don't have the assets for him. Sorry, save your Terrence Jones/Kostas Papanikolaou proposals.
Dude just scored 22 points last night went 4/6 from 3, 7 assist, plays D, has good handles, yeah Danny will trade him but not for scraps. Best case was tjones + 1st draft night. We missed on a lot of these trades we want now 18th pick was something to work with. Maybe Dekker + jones will be what morey will have on Table now.
He is not a scoring guard off the bench. And Ainge like Morrey is prepared to sell off everything if it lands a star. So no we can't get him.
It would be so cool to have the #1 WARP ranked Marcus Smart and #2 WARP ranked Clint Capela of their 2014 Draft class in the same bench unit.
Sure, love to have him. I don't remember him being available, but they do have to even out that roster. Boston needs a 3 and we have a couple, maybe a few, but I don't know. Morey and Ainge would be trying to out-fleece each other in a deal. Kinda like the dance-off in "Zoolander".
LOL. Any trade for Marcus Smart by us would involve Capela going out. I'd still love to have him even at the cost of Capela. But I doubt even if we gave up Capela, Dekker, and DMo that we could get him. Not true. He's got great bball iq.
Mine too. That Tech fan needed smacking. Afterwards, the Tech fan admitted remorse and some self-enlightenment-- I believe Smart smacked some of the racism right outta that b!itch.
Smart isn't that good to demand such a package but you are absolutely correct on what it would take. Because it's Ainge. I hate Boston fans always overrating their prospects and their value.
He's Boston's best player and he is headed for stardom. He is that good. And any other GM, including Morey, would want a kings ransom for him too, not just Ainge.
lol. He's not headed to stardom. He isn't even a pure pg. He doesn't playmake. He is going to end up being a defensive guard good for fourth banana.
Smart has some potential, but did I miss the memo where he is considered some future star? Why would he require a bigger return than lawson? Just cause he is cheap and young?
Funny, cause his high WARP ranking and the reason he went 6th is because of his natural playmaking ability, creativity and court vision and passing.
