That'd be a great trade for Boston, imo. I think Rondo's value is higher than it will ever be, and while he's good I don't think he'll sustain that level or be worth the money he's going to demand. In a couple of years he's going to be severely overpaid, so I think Boston wants to get value for him now.

Prince and Rip are ultimate team players that play great defense and would thrive around Pierce and KG. That would be a sick defensive team.

allen's $17M expiring and rondo's upside, combined with their productivity make this a VERY valuable package but they've been asking for too much. stuckey, rip, prince? nash and amare? they can't net such giant returns even with this package.

this isn't the first time this package has been rumored to be offered. i believe ainge is really pushing to cash in on rondo's value right now, and use allen's expiring in a predatory way (to steal the rockets buzz word). i bet those two are gone before the season starts.

any interest from the rockets standpoint? probably nothing the rockets are willing to give up.

Allen is headed downward fast. He wants a contract extension and the Celts won't give him one. He has a massive contract so I say NO. I would send Pistons Lowry to back up Stuckey. They would love him and throw in Landy/Tmac. Get back Rip, Prince.

The Celtics probably know that Allen is fast fading in talent and the only way to get something back is to package him with an upcoming player like Rondo.

Allen and Rondo were the two that kept C's above the water in the playoffs..

Agree, but you could see the drop in the game of Allen. Some of the games, He was a non factor. ( Chicago series ) The Celtics are looking long term and are probably trying to retool to match up with the Lakers.

Thank you Danny Ainge for putting the trade rumors on Rondo to rest.

Pistons lose way too much depth and it's interesting to see how willing the Celtics are to move Rondo, one of the top and young point guards in the league. If we could get Rondo and Allen, that'd be awesome.

    Rajon Rondo
    Ray Allen
    Ron Artest
    Ruis Scola
    Rao Ming

I think they would take a deal involving T-Mac just to get that contract. Out of all the teams in the NBA, I would think that they would be trying to dump salary the most due to the economic problems up there that got alot worse this year.

They are already rebuilding. If they weren't they wouldn't have trade Billups last year. Prince and Rip can only take you so far, and stuckey is not in Rondo's level yet. The only reason I can think of why Pistons won't do this deal is because they don't like the offcourt issues Rondo has according to rumors (locker room cancer etc).

Morey needs to get in on the Rondo sweepstakes. Give them AB + something else. AB's stock is highest right now, and apparently RR has really pissed off Boston.

Do Tracy + Landry for Amare + Barbosa, then AB + ____ for Rondo.

I really don't think Joe Dumars is looking to make major moves right away. I think he's an old school GM. He wants to give his young guys time to grow, make trades when they're clearly advantageous, and draft well. Also, he understands more than anyone the value of a two way player like Tayshaun.

Honestly, the Pistons aren't that bad on the perimeter. They just aren't getting much help from the bigs. At the snails pace that they play at they need big guys who can dominate definsively and someone who they can depend on in the low post.
