This has come up again and again. There are many kinds of injuries. It does not have to mean a season ending injury.

It is not uncommon for older players to miss 10-20 games in the regular season and a game or two in a playoffs series. With good backup, a team can get by those injuries. Without good backup, those could be disaster. So it is not "regardless." It depends.

By now, most Rockets fans should know the importance of a good backup center. We had Mutombo when Yao was hurt. It was disastrous when both of them were down. We now have DMo when Dwight is down. What would be our record if DMo didn't play like he has been this season? With good backup, the injury to our starting center did not become a disaster because Dwight's injury was not season ending.

Dallas obviously has to give up something to get something of value. Yes there are some negatives to the trade but if Rondo is healthy and focused, the trade makes Dallas a championship contender. They were not before.

I'm not concerned about competing with Dallas. Morey told us we're not competing until we get a third star.

I think people are saying that because Dallas no longer has depth at center.

The at the rim is a pretty useless figure on its own, mainly because of one's propensity to get fouled, the league average is 22%, now there are certain people like the bearded b*stard and his lanky brother from another mother that push that figure up to near 40%

But just using the league average, if Rondo even recovers his free throw % to 40, that figure comes to 53.5% (if he gets to 50% but i doubt he will, it'd be 55.6), now if you go to say, Ricky Rubio, the worst finisher in the nba, he whips out a shockingly 49%, now take that free throw figure in (ill use his career average since he's barely played this year), but then take into account his free throws, he's up to 55.82%. Yes that's right, you are better off with Rubio shooting at the rim than Rondo....

Wright's PER is above James Harden's.

Estimated Wins Added above Zach Randolph's.

Wright's performance compares to Duncan's and Z-Bo's. This is like the Tyson Chandler deal where Dallas gave up more than most people think.

They should have kept Wright. I'd keep him over Tyson Chandler.

Now that the deal has been made people can overrate the Mavs again. Did they not learn their lesson when they crowned them contenders at the beginning of the year?

    Rockets vs. Mavericks Starting Lineups

P.G. - Beverley vs. Rondo (Mavericks)
S.G. - Harden vs. Ellis (Rockets)
S.F. - Ariza vs. Parsons (Rockets)
P.F. - Motiejunas vs. Nowitzki (Mavericks)
..C. - Howard vs. Chandler (Rockets)

Still got 3 out of 5 positions topping them but the X-Factor is our bench! Blows their asses away!! I hope the Mavs enjoy rolling out 2 very injury prone players (Rondo and Chandler) out there for 48 minutes cause they are going to have to.

    In summary, Rockets Win!

Not sure what you mean, we have a better team and a deeper team. Our defense is better and our offense is close. In summary, we will end up beating them in a game.

Rondo, Dirk, Ellis, and Parsons with a great pnr player in Tyson?

Dallas might be the best in the NBA now.

I hate to admit it, but Parsons is better than Ariza.

Not when Ariza puts the clamps on Parsons. Is Parsons gonna lock down Ariza? Nope.

A matchup between us would be fun as hell- I could easily see it being close.

Assuming the rosters don't change- Dallas might pull it out only because of the match up nightmare they cause. Rondo can cover Harden, Chandler can cover Dwight, leaving Ellis and Parsons on two poor offensive players in Beverly and Ariza. Whereas we'd have to choose on either shutting down Ellis or Parsons with Ariza.

That said, if we were to acquire another piece (like Dragit or a player of his caliber) we could probably pull out a hard fought series W.

Why would Parsons need to put the clamps on Ariza? He's been bricking enough shots lately.
