http://www.nba.com/bobcats/release_landry_080924.html hopefully the offer wasnt much and i hope morey matches this offer
This whole standoff continues to be nothing but frustrating. Hopefully, this is a good sign and the Bobcats just did us a favor like the Grizzlies did for the Hawks with Josh Smith.
Man... What is wrong with Landry? Why is he hesitating to sign with us? Does he expect to get starter's minutes somewhere else? He's a good bench compliment and for us, he's a perfect fit. I don't know why he's not signing with us, but he will regret it if he doesn't.
CHARLOTTE is a hole, i swear, any player that goes there is never heard from again. Landry's NBA dreams will get crushed but he will get paid if we don't match
wait what? so what if the bobcats offer is less than what the rockets have already offered? if higher, what if the rockets match the bobcats higher offer? does that mean he is off of the market? or can other teams still submit other offers?
hopefully terms of the deal are disclosed soon and we'll know if we are going to keep landry or lose him. Also its said they extended an offer sheet to landry, what if carl turns down the offer sheet?
Look at the other players in the $3-4 million range: http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-player-salaries/ IMO, 3 yrs/9 mil is a good deal even w/ consideration to the knee situation.
True, but this is the thread that actually has the news in the title, so hopefully this one can stay on top or they get merged with this title. Back to the topic, if the rumor that the deal is for 3 years 9 million is true, then I don't see any reason not to match. Someone in the other thread mentioned luxury tax but you could always trim salary later. It's way more important to get a contributor locked up at a manageable salary. Thank god this situation has finally come to a head. Only 7 days until this thing gets settled (or less if Morey acts decisively in matching), just in time for training camp.
They say extended an offer sheet, but that actually means that for all intents and purposes Carl has signed a contract. It's just that the Rockets have 7 days to match and assume the contract with the exact same terms.
