That would make sense. He has terrible character which makes your love of him even more luaghable New information?
Not new at all, if you payed more attention to the things I say, you'd know more about football and you'd have known about Mallett's terrible character years ago.
Even today Hoyer looks better than Mallet. This would be a great day for Mallet. 5 y/a and 1:1 td to into ratio
Sadly this is true. Hoyer is the best of two terrible QB's. Hoyer a good backup NFL qb, and Mallett should be out of the league.
Redemption as he spent the whole second half cheering for Hoyer to get hurt, and he finally got taken in for a concussion protocol? Yeah, great redemption. (I realize your post was sarcastic. I think.)
Bobby finally showed his true colors tonight...he's not a Texans fan. He is the happiest "texans fan" in the world tonight. He's overjoyed at this game's result.
of the 6 Texans wins, TJ Yates has 2....the only 2 impressive wins of the season against the Jets (8-5) and Bengals (10-3) Ryan Mallett has 1 against the Bucs (6-7) Brian Hoyer has 3, against the Saints (5-8), Titans(3-10), and Jags(5-8). Tell me again how awesome Hoyer is.
Of course he didn't "win" those games, but he did play well enough to get into the end zone which helped the defense stand up and win the game. Without Yates' 2 passing TD's the Texans lose to the Jets 17-10 Without Yates' TD, the Texans lose to the Bengals 6-3. I'm not suggesting that Yates is some amazing QB, just that he's better than Hoyer who is consistently godawful against everyone but the worst teams in the league.
I have "got his team into the end zone", isn't that an important thing to take into consideration? Hoyer never got the Texans into the end zone vs the Bengals, and it's doubtful he would have against the Jets given his history against teams with good defenses. Basically all you have to go on is stats that were inflated during garbage time and against really terrible teams. If you look at what he's done against decent teams, there's not much of a case to go with BOB's buddy Hoyer.
Are you implying that Yates has more "got his team into the end zone" than Yates? Yates is very inaccurate and takes more chances. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
It's not so much "QB wins" as it is pointing out that Yates managed to get the offense into the end zone against good teams when Hoyer wasn't able to. Hoyer had his chances against the Bengals and the offense looked awful till the Texans were lucky enough to have him get hurt. Yates then came in and was able to move the offense enough to score a TD....something Hoyer couldn't. It's not winz so much as it is pointing out that the offense worked better with Yates than with Hoyer in games that were against legit teams. Hoyer has his inflated numbers with garbage time scores and the fact that he managed to score on the Saints a few times.....which is no accomplishment at all, almost every other QB that faced them did better. It comes down to if you care about garbage time stats or if you care about the guy that got the job done against the better teams the Texans faced.
