Hoyer will probably hold the job until we face a good defense (Bengals), then BOB will switcheroo again, and this idiotic circlejerk will continue until the end of the year.

Mallet will never start a game in the NFL ever again.

    He's going full VY/Tebow

Mallet probably *shouldn't*, but the way BOB has been coaching, all it takes is a damned fart in the wind to change QBs.

    Not premature.

The boneheaded play doesn't negate the game he had. The defense and god awful penalties are the only reasons he was in that position in the first place.

Hoyer had a great game. That was the best this offense has looked all year by a long shot. Sadly, it was the worst the defense has looked. It was worse than against the Falcons, given the talent.

Crennel shouldn't even be allowed on the flight home.

Anyone that thinks Mallett is better than Hoyer, you need to check your sanity. The debate is over.

    OP,

this thread is the perfect reflection of the current Texans situation.

    Bobby is Mallett,

    and you are just Hoyer.

Enjoy making fun of each other's because that's the only fun you have left.

what an idiotic thread...Bobby was right about both of them...Mallett does give this team the best chance to win...His inability to move the offense stems from a complicated system that forces him to make decisions. But everyone knows what Hoyer does...and he showed it on that last throw...He has done this his entire career.

But forget the offense for a second. This is a defense with magic man JJ Watt...What the fck happened to this "so called defense"

We need to put Mallet in a system where he doesn't have to make decisions.

Explain to me how Mallett gives the team the best chance to win when he hasn't moved the offense as effectively as Hoyer has all season? Hoyer, over the last five quarters , has consistently moved the team far more efficiently than Mallett has at any point in the season. And Mallett has had more time.

Your post is a perfect reflection of the Texans defense.

It just makes no sense. You've got names on paper, but no substance whatsoever.

How can it be so bad?

Bad coaching. You can't have that much talent and be that bad unless the scheme is god-awful.

Our best chance to win the #1 overall pick...lol

I agree with the premise that Hoyer moved the offense better, but that last play typifies his career and our franchise. The "OH so close, but FACE palm" Texans...Mallett needs games under his belt in order to assess his play. Rather suffer with an unknown...So yes, Mallett gives this team the best chance at winning...whether it is with the #1 pick overall, OR if he figures out how to use his arm and his brain at the same time.

Please dont fool yourself in think that Hoyer was dominating an elite defense...He was making throws to wide open players, bc HE HAD ZERO pressure and faced an inexperienced rookie defense...

but thats the point...who do u really believe is AVERAGE? The clear answer should be neither!

The Texans have failed their city and her fans... They had a chance to rectify QB issues with chances to draft high... Any attempts at salvaging this season should be put off immediately. Tank and do this right. Start fresh, and clean HOUSE...Hire Tony Dungy and a competent GM.

I still think Bill's a smart guy and has a system that can be prolific, but he failed to see what we ALL saw...Neither of these men have what it takes to be an NFL QB.
