This was not a pure basketball decision. If MDA had his way either Brown or Ennis would have been cut instead. This is a Le$ or Morey decision, it was either about the money or Morey bending over backwards to keep Harden happy.

It really, really sucks to see Pablo cut. The guy can play and he is a fantastic example for the younger players. You could put him in a playoff game and he would make a positive impact. You can't say the same for Brown or Ennis.

This years team goals are not last season's team goals. We need to maximize upside. Why do you think we replaced Howard with Capela?

A 32 year old Bobby Brown doesn't exactly have upside.

No but Wiltjer and Ennis do, specifically Ennis. Ennis provides the more traditional PG like Pablo. So then you keep Bobby because he is a PG who can create his own shot. Not only does he create his own shot, but by doing so he can play make for others when the defense has to respond to his attacking. You'd never get that with Pablo. Probably didn't hurt Bobby's case by dropping 9 dimes with 0 turnovers in the last preseason game. You'd never get that with Pablo, regular season or preseason.

Nope. 32 and 39 year olds have the same amount of upside if they have both been playing for a long time. None.

I get you don't like the move but let's not pretend like the dude didn't work hard to get this opportunity. He's played in different countries to get a chance to play at home for once and for probably a shorter time than he's been overseas. Yeah his network helps but give the man some credit for sticking to his dream.

    Upside with Ennis?
Is it his inability to hit an outside jumper?
His ability to drive and not finish?
    His mediocre defense?
I suppose if you are saying his capabilities are so low that there is nowhere to go but up.
But that doesn't mean that he's going to make significant improvement at any time
    PAAAABLOOOO! COME BAAAAAACK!

It was originally announced that Ennis WAS cut.
Then it got turned around. They decided to keep him and jettison Pablo

Why are some of you guys complaining about the last man on the bench? Even if it was Harden's choice... the least we could've done was do him this solid for signing that unexpected extension.

At 10 minutes per game as the 3rd string PG, completely insignificant.
