Well, maybe the Texans haven't learned their lesson.

Looks like the Texans will have the following options for QB this offseason.

    1. The unlikely QB's: (QB's who like to break out of the system and improvise)
    1. Kaep
    2. RGIII
    3. Manziel

Don't see any of these guys getting signed by the Texans.

    2. FA possibilities:
    1. Brock Osweiler
    2. Sam Bradford

Depends on how much they want and how much the market will be for them. I would be okay with taking either of the above if we also select either Cook or Hackenberg in the 2nd. Hopefully one of these will be able to pan out and become an average NFL QB for you.

    3. Draft: Texans trade up into the 10-15 range for Lynch, Goff, or Wentz.

    My preferred option.

    4. Hoyer & draft pick.

Draft Cook, Hackenberg, or other post 1st round QB prospect to pair with Hoyer until draftee is ready. I really don't see them keeping Hoyer after that playoff performance and concussion history even though he's proven that he can keep you competitive against weaker competition.

You must be out your mind. Seriously! You would like them to keep Hoyer?

I think #3 was his preferred choice.

Probably right, although that option may keep Hoy around as well.

I can't imagine any scenario where Hoyer is kept around.

I couldn't imagine trotting the Hoy back out in the second half of the playoff game.

Yeah....that was pretty terrible but the team probably loses no matter what and BOB wanted his boy to get a full playoff game under his belt before his career was over. If you left it up to BOB, he'd probably bring Hoyer back, but thankfully it won't be up to him. Smith and McNair can simply cut him and save BOB from himself.

So Smith and McNair are the voice of reason? I have zero confidence that this ends well if that's the case.

They all agreed to bring in and start Mallet so they're all questionable

No the Hoy started and they decided he wasn't a starter until Mallet started and then they decided that he wasn't a starter then they decided that The Hoy was a starter and then no matter how bad he sucked or how good a backup was The Hoy remained the starter. Brilliant!!

Don't forget passing up a bunch of QBs in the draft

Are any of them named Schaub Jr? 'Cause we can't draft that guy, people might boo.

Derek Schaub wasn't even on the teams radar.

Good point. Can't have that last name or Williams either.

Sadly, yes. Listening to Bill O'Brien got us Hoyer and Mallett....I'd hope we don't do that again. I don't have any great faith in McNair or Smith, but more so than I do in BOB's ability to judge QB talent. He went out of his way to ensure the Texans had a complete joke at the position when there were people we could have picked up weeks into the season who were just sitting at home on their couch who would have been better than what BOB chose to go with. That's unforgivable.

Now BOB did a pretty good job everywhere else, so I don't want him fired, I just don't want him to ever have input about a QB ever again.

Which is sad because he was on my radar 2 years before he was drafted.

Brock, Wentz/Lynch and Savage? I'm cool w that. Maybe we can make a selection sooner than the last week of preseason?
