    Hey CF'ers

I'm heading for the Shenendoah Valley for a wedding and will be spending a couple of weeks on the bike on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Dr.

This will be my first trip through those mountains and really looking forward to the ride...just wondering if any of you guys have any "must see" suggestions.

I know about the Dragon's Tail, but that's about it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Just took a vacation with my family on the Blue Ridge Parkway last month, and we loved it. We camped the first night near Cherokee, NC in the Great Smokey Mountains.

Spent the next 3 days driving and camping along the way.

The best part is definitely on the North Carolina side. Lots of tunnels, and spectacular views. You almost can't go wrong in terms of stops along the way. Everything is beautiful.

There are a couple of "expensive" stops that we skipped over like Grandfather Mountain, Ruby Falls, and the Natural Bridge in Virginia, but we didn't feel cheated.

Great drive, I can imagine taking a bike is the perfect choice.

Plan on taking your time, though.

Thanks. After visiting family/friends in east TN we plan on starting our trek from Cherokee. Yes, I understand that the best riding is between Asheville and Cherokee. Apparently that whole area is an excellent ride.

Didn't know some of the views can be "expensive". We'll remember that.

We've got 2 weeks so taking our time is certainly on the list of activities.

Again, thanks for the reply. repped.
