^^^ Didn't we see a picture of him signing the contract? If that wasn't the contract, what was it?

A player putting pen to paper on an NBA contract does not necessarily equate to that contract being official. Pretty sure BOTH parties need to sign the contract AND it has to be submitted to the league.

Apparently, there are insurance reasons why Papanikolaou cannot "be an NBA player" while he's still with the Greek National Team. To jump through those insurance hoops, he'd have to miss some time with his national team; and he just didn't want to do that.

So, his signing is on hold until he finishes up his Greek National Team obligation.

Then his signing will become official.

Then, the trade speculators can start their 30-day clocks.

Sorry, I had to send some business to tend to.

Before I could get back, ooooaaaah and others pretty much covered this.

In spite of all the rigmarole, Bledsoe could end up signing a fat contract w/ PHX. And don't believe for a second (no matter what you hear) that the Dragon wouldn't be available. Sarver isn't paying them both.
At the same time, EB getting dealt is obviously a very real possibility.

    We're positioned quite nicely.

Resolution is on the way and the Rockets will move quickly once this happens. Most likely it will be PHX, but again there are other extremely enticing options.

Pretty over simplified... As a pure point Lowry is better, he also shoots better. Bledsoe has a stronger drive and penetration game. You'd hope Bledsoe would improve in passing/shooting, though.

So I assume that once the Bledsoe situation is resolved, bam we have a PG in one way shape or form. Is there a follow up move for a PF? Assuming Jones or DMO is gone in the first trade, that leaves our big rotation really thin.

BT - - hypothetically, purely hypothetically, the Rox could deal Papa's 'rights' with no salary effect attached, yes?

Simple outlook for Rocket fans, you would want him be close Lowry than Alston or Brooks in those 5-6 years

Yes, I suppose. But it's probably too late for that, given the (unofficial) agreement on contract terms.

His health concerns is the prime reason he is still available. Morey loves to swing for the fences and Bledsoe is still young and not only a beast of a player when healthy, he is a fantastic fit for the Rockets current offense and what they want to do on D.

Even Boston, who has Rondo (a current CF fave), are interested in Bledsoe. Even As good as he has been, he still has upside. Those comparing Bledsoe's production with Lin's are cracked. Bledsoe is a legitimate star with superstar potential.

To carry that hypothetical over to its practical I would have to assume the acquiring team would have to convince Papa to play for them this year, and at the already agreed to amount.

Let's keep a mind of this:

    Eric Bledsoe
    Goran Dragic
    Isiah Thomas
    Tyler Ennis

That's alot of point guards. Tyler Ennis will be in D-league, Isiah will likely be 6th man or could start with a two pointguard look.

Regardless, there is no way Bledsoe and Dragic will both remain on the team. Doesn't make sense.

that being said, it will come down to who will have the best package to offer. So the guarantee is that one will not be a Sun, the hope is that one will be a Rocket.

They also have Archie Goodwin who they see as more combo guard than SG. He has similar athleticism and getting to rim ability as Bledsoe, just bigger (6-5) but not as good passer/shooter.

Bledsoe has far more upside than Young
