Blazers not only signed Melo, but they’re making him a high minute starter and giving him a bunch of shots they are showing Dame they’re clearly not interested in making any noise whatsoever this year

Yes, I would rather have Gerald Green jacking up shots any day. Because when he’s not hitting, the coach can bench him, he won’t complain, and there won’t be 59 threads about it on ClutchFans the next day.
I'm happy for Melo. I'm even more happy for the Rockets not having him and that a Western conference opponent does. I just wish EGo was healthy, and that our role players could shoot.
guys, him a chance. He hasnt played in a year, no training camp. My guess is the blazers are gonna give him at least 10 games to see if after that he is a bit more into rythm. So far he looks terrible, and to be honest, i think his only niche in the league is as a 20 min a game, coming of the bench, against bench guys. If he can accept that role , he may be ok, but as a starter is never going to work. Teams will go at him all the time to expose his terrible defense. Right now , for the blazers, its ok to start him adn give him minutes, they got literally nobody, and they are trying to give him some rythm. I hope it works out for him, but to be honest, i think it wont.
At this point, it was almost help the Blazers to tank the season to get high pick and/or trade it for a high caliber player. They need a high-powered versatile forward.
