Do you think it's racist to take the view of one person and then believe that it represents the whole group because that's what you are doing here.

My thread title is clear, but it is concerning that some may be twisting the message of BLM -- here's video from a previous thread and if i'm correct there is more than one person acting the fool.

Technically that would be simply be inherently reductionist, not racist. That individual person could be a member of the NSA, or NAMBLA, or CPAC. Your baseline conditions don't specify race specific groups. Therefore the vast majority of conditions for which satisfy your conditions have no racial component at all.

So the answer is no, it isn't racist to look at one person in NASA or the US Navy and think he represents everybody NASA or the US Navy, for instance.

I completely agree, these particular people are ignorant and I'm not sure what their purpose is, clearly no research has been done. It's seems like they just heard a politician was in town and wanted to disrupt regardless of who it is.

I completely understand where you are coming from.Technically you are correct. However we are not talking about NASA or the US Navy. But let's be real here we all know what race the majority of the black lives matters movement members are.

Being a bit pedantic are we? I think you know exactly what his point was and it is a valid point.

Racist? No... Bigoted? Maybe. Painting with a broad brush? Sure. Who cares. One crazy b**** shouldn't tarnish an entire movement that states that there are still racial biases in this nation that have tangible negative consequences

Does anyone really expect more out of simpletons who still to this day chant "hands up, don't shoot" despite the fact that they know that nonsense is based on lies?

Maybe that could have been a decent "movement" if it wasn't spearheaded by the LCD.

Lol wow that was pretty painful to watch.

They acted pretty calm considering how stupid that chick was acting. Kind of amazed security didn't escort her away. Have there been any follow up interviews with her?

    Is she even black though?

If this were the hottest black girl thread and she were that color and good looking you'd have people calling out that she's not even black.

Black Lives Matter is inherently racist. It is right in the title of the movement. They are singling out one specific group, based only on skin color, that the movement is designed to benefit. It is basically the black racial component of Affirmative Action applied to police misconduct.

No where is it more apparent that Black Lives Matter is racist than in the response to people who say All Lives Matter. That response is shouted down. It is no different than the inherent sexism of feminism. Why do feminists oppose egalitarianism? Both egalitarianism and feminism have the same professed goal of equality of opportunity, but egalitarianism doesn't focus on women to the exclusion of others.

Another data point to show that Black Lives Matter is racist is that it still supports Michael Brown vis-a-vis Darren Wilson, when the weight of the evidence suggests that Wilson was acting in self-defense and that Michael Brown was a criminal attacker. Instead of distancing themselves from that incident and saying, "Fine, in this case the cop was right, but there are X number of other cases where the cop was wrong" they still cling to the Michael Brown case (hands up, don't shoot).

They still talk about Trayvon Martin as though the court didn't prosecute his killer for murder resulting in a jury finding Zimmerman not guilty on the basis of self-defense.

They talk about Sandra Bland as though she was not lawfully arrested and then killed herself in jail and instead as though she had been gunned down in the street for failing to signal.

The truth is irrelevant to this movement, they care about what color the people involved where. Bland, Martin, and Brown were black, their killers were not, therefor they stand with Bland, Martin, and Brown. They are treating people differently based entirely on skin color, and that is the very essence of racism.

The message of the movement is that black people are being unfairly targeted by law enforcement. Maybe you disagree with this message, but that's the core idea behind it and I don't find that notion racist in the slightest. I hope you can understand how a response like "all lives matter" is, at best, just missing the point, and really it comes off as dismissive of this core message. It is that dismissiveness that the movement is trying to overturn.
