nba.com tv reports that chauncey billups has signed a 6 year deal with the detroit pistons. do you guys think this will help their team?
It certainly hurts Minn...which is good. Billups has turned into a solid player - he should bebetter for them than Atkins.
Chauncey's a decent guard. His defense isn't great, but anything that helps weaken a division rival is OK by me. Too bad Rasto (sp?) Nesterovic is a restricted free agent. If he could just walk over to the Knicks.... (sigh) But he can't.
15 pts 6.6 assists 2 turnovers as a starter last year and he's only 25 (26 in september). 22 pts 5.7 assists in the playoffs. Great shooter, makes good decisions, has the height the Pistons lack at pg. He ain't garbage. He's a very good fit for them. He isn't a pure point guard, but he provides what is needed for Detroit.
HUGE loss for the Wolves considering that Brandon's situation is very "iffy." The Wolves are in trouble and if they lose Nesterovic for nothing then they are on the outside looking into the playoffs next season. Chris
couldn't you just feel the balance of power shift back to the east with this signing. watch out shaq, chauncey's coming for ya.
Its a good signing for Detroit. It may be the end of a playoff run for the T_Wolves. He was a huge success for them when Brandon was injured. Now that he is gone, they dont have the insurance they had last year. There's a team that the Rockets will pass up next year.
I think we're seriously going to find out soon whether or not KG can lead a team of CBA players to the playoffs... ...I'm waiting on Minnesota to trade Wally for a 2nd rounder any day now.
Ok...first post...but i have been reading the forums regularly for quite a while now. I think Minnesota is pretty much doomed. KG cant take them farther than the first round. Brandon is probably gonna have another injury plagued year. And Wally is probably gonna go somewhere else. And then KG with his contract cant be traded either....so unless they sign somebody really good to back up Brandon OR get someone(s) of high quality for Wally (which is unlikely), they will not be making the playoffs. Especially now that the rockets have gotten better and hopefully less "injury plagued".
