I'm glad also, since it's better for us that the Jazz lose since we could be fighting for a playoff spot with them.
One thing that absolutely infuriates me is that they don't move up the TV timeouts during a review. There is absolutely no reason why the referees need to stop play for upwards of 90 seconds, while the fans at home look at a slow-motion replay over and over again, and then we end up going to commercial at the 9 minute mark in the 2nd and 4th quarters. It's completely insane! The NBA was so obsessed with the games taking too long that they banned handshakes, yet they can't figure out a way to make all reviews happen during the TV timeouts? The referees do not stop play when determining if a player's toe was on the 3-point line, they wait until the next time out. They've determined that it's acceptable for the teams to play on, even with a point in limbo. When you consider that the team leader in points per possession is 1.13, it wouldn't be all that crazy for referees to simply delay reviewing goaltending or even questionable out-of-bounds plays until the next dead ball, then awarding possession to the team harmed by the incorrect call. It's got about the same impact on the state of the game as delaying the 3-pointer review.
Worth noting that the ref blows his whistle BEFORE Billups hits the ground and exaggerates the flop. Even if it's a flop, it's a flop after a foul call - soooo. What's the rule on kicking your leg out? Because Williams makes contact with Billups leg, which is then where the foul is called. If he's allowed to do that, then it's a fair play. If he's not allowed to kick his leg out, then that's a problem.
There's something poetic about the Jazz getting screwed against someone who both flopped and kicked on the same play.
I don't know the rule. But commonsense would say that kicking a leg out is similar to using your off hand to create space. That should be illegal.
Agreed, in the sense that this is more contact than KG received from Humphries. Still a flop but if they punish this after not punshing KG it wold show the league's biases.
It was against the Jazz, good for Chauncey. I hate the Jazz, and every Rocket fan should hate the Jazz. Even the 2012 New guys, learn the ropes...hate the Jazz. The stigma of Stockton & Malone will never leave that club. Can't stand that team at all. Y'all feel me?
Billups received a warning for the flop. http://losangeles.sbnation.com/los-...3732742/chauncey-billups-warned-flop-clippers
