Obviously, they did think he was toxic. It's a judgement call, though they have a lot more information than I do to base the judgement on. I won't really second-guess them. They sold really low. If they really thought they had to sell, I think they came out alright. I guess I have to trust them that selling right away when the market was at the lowest it could be was the best call.
Joey Dorsey and Nick Johnson combined will eat up less than 2 million. Lawson's trade value dropped drastically in the past few months. I don't think there were a ton of teams willing to pay a whole lot more to get him. I wouldn't call the first round pick garbage. It can be used to help them trade up in the draft or stash a really good Euro player.
He's the poo that keeps on giving. Got us Brewer (along with Daniels) and Papanikolaou last year. Papanikolaou is part of package for Lawson. Rockets still have rights to Todorovic and the 2017 Portland 2nd Rounder.
What the hell is wrong with you people? Chuck Hayes is a terrible fit for this ream. I'd rather have Glen Davis
He would be a good end of the bench player to protect against injuries and fouls on Dwight and Capela. Good rebounder, terrific defender and an outstanding passer.
Hayes is a good "break in case of Blake Griffin" option off the bench if we're getting killed by him again.
Seriously. It seems like people keep forgetting this. Thomas Robinson didn't do very much for us....or just about any other team he played on. But, even at the time of the deadline, Morey said that Robinson would be easier to move than PPat. And that turned out to be true. We were able to trade him to help us get the cap space to sign Dwight Howard. Part of trading him we were able to get Papanikolaou which helped us get Ty Lawson. Patterson was a better player than Robinson was. Doing that trade, at that time, helped open up more possibilities for us.
