You provided no good reason why it is meaningless other than repeating it. My guess is you only think it's useless because you don't agree with what could be used with the knowledge. Maybe similar to how GOP wouldn't allow research or work on climate change, because knowing more about it is "meaningless" and "useless" for them.
We are still in the very beginning of AI, no telling what AI would be able to do in 30-40 years. Remember apple computers back in the early 80s? Now think of today's computer as apple computers in 30-40 years, that is a scary thought.
Touche. Perhaps "fine" is not good enough for Americans. Perhaps the economy wasn't all that "great" under the Obama years. My underlying point hasn't changed: supply and price are inversely proportional. If you increase the supply of labor, wages will go down. I haven't forgotten any of that. If you look at the decades prior to NAFTA and normal trade relations with China, manufacturing jobs were on the decline. However, looking at net exports minus oil, you can see that this decline is (largely) most likely NOT due to offshoring. Since these trade policies have gone into effect, it is a different story.
Once the Touring Test is met and all or most of the time you don't know whether you are speaking on the phone with a machine or a human than it will be crazy the number of people without jobs. By then of course the 10% who spend much of their day driving vehicles will have already been replaced. Ever notice notice how at the big banks and ATT for instance ever 6 months or so you can get more and more done by recordings that just say :" you can speak in normal sentences. Tell us what you want?" A friend has a job in which they are working on robots that can just pick and choose between various parts to make whatever is possible with the parts they have access to.
When most of the people are replaced by the AI/robots, we will either have a revolution or we will have almost everyone cutting a government check and play all day.
Dude your argumentation is SO BAD. Stop and take a look at yourself. In this thread: 1. You said unemployment is 5% and posted a video that said it's over 30%. 2. You made multiple straw man arguments, about outsourcing jobs (irrelevant) and people who have/don't have jobs at this moment (irrelevant). 3. You made and returned to an unsuitable analogy about a nail gun, which is simply a tool like a hammer, which requires a human rather than replacing a human. Seriously, you should think about what a mess your thinking is. Do you honestly not understand that outsourcing jobs to Mexico is irrelevant to the topic of taxing robots? Do you honestly think past unemployment is relevant to future automation?
This is a method is close to what so called a systemic review journal ,a work that take a team of researchers and a few months of time frame to collect massive data and applying multi-excursion to reach the final conclusion,( a dedicated search engine would significantly help, so far endnotes software is used, Watson is a great tool but it's not intended to replace anyone in the field, This case diagnosed by bone marrow biopsy using morphologic, cytochemical, immunophenotypic, and cytogenetic/molecular analysis of certain genetic abnormalities or myeloid sarcoma which take tons of work and reconfirmation under the microscopes, once the Hematologists are done with these ,IBM Walton step in to help picking appropriate subtypes, classification scheme.in one case out 100 in regard of rare cases it would be beneficial
It's laughable how Space Ghost who's claim to fame is Clutchfans D&D troller, thinks someone like Bill Gates is an idiot just because Gates isn't alt-right
