Anthony Davis not making the All-Star team is a shock. He got robbed, but fortunately for him he'll make multiple All-Star games in his career. Lowry not making it is a bit of a surprise as well, especially considering his teammate DeRozan did.
Lowry. In Davis case, idk which front court player I would remove for him....but JJ is too easy. He shouldn't be there.
Mike Conley consistently gets snubbed. There is no way that Lilliard is better than Conley or does more for that team than Conley does for him. Also, in reality, Tony Parker gets in by virtue of the way the spurs play every year (their record), but that team's mvp is pops and the system they play more than it is any one player on that team. It just sucks that the grizzlies go to the wcf but you'd never no it by the allstar selections they get every year. Terrible.
Because the Grizzlies suck this year, at least they did in the beginning. But Conley doesn't even deserve to get in before Goran Dragic.
Anthony Davis not getting in is a real shame for the home crowd. He's having a great 20/10 year but even still gets snubbed in front of the NO crowd. If NO played in the East he'd have easily gone in over Milsap. Maybe he'll go in in place of CP3 or Kobe, even though they're of course both guards. Al Jefferson is another big snub nobody really mentions. He's averaging just under 20/10.
Wow, good point. It completely missed me that the All-Star game is in N.O. this year.. wow, that really makes Davis getting snubbed even worse. Dude is having a GREAT season. MVP numbers (granted, without the team success yet) Cousins missing the game is a shame too. It's sad they took the Center spot out because the Center position is making a comeback, imo.
It's unbelievable that Davis didn't make it. How can someone who has a PER of almost 27, and who is maybe the best defender at his position not be on the AS team?

He has great defensive numbers, and that's why his PER is so enormous. But overall defensively he's just not that good. In actual games he gets pushed around easily and he has trouble with help defense - over helping, under helping. He's a mixed bag. He can stay with a guard on the perimeter on one play, block a shot on the next one, and then he can make mistakes multiple times in a row, or get outmatched physically over and over again. He made Motiejunas of all people look like Shaq on several box outs. He's above average. And he looks like he will be a DPOY caliber player one day. But right now it's still a roller coaster. He also missed a bunch of games, and his team isn't very good. I would've picked him myself. But his case isn't such a no-brainer. When they pick injury replacements, Dragic will definitely have a case for that spot too. And Cousins. And Conley. Duncan.
No way, re Noah. He's a clear all star. Lowry should be in over Joe Johnson. Then probably one of Al Jefferson / Afflalo / or Stephenson over DeRozan. Although I don't mind the DeRozan selection that much. I wouldn't select him myself. But he played pretty well, he just had these bad stretches after Ujiri's trades that make his overall numbers look bad.
