Obviously, Lillard needs to taste Bruce Bowen's Kungfu kick to grow up...

I hope so, I would be most disappointed to find he doesn't take advantage of every tool to be a better defender. Watching game tape so you know each players tendencies is the only reason Battier even has a career and that isn't an insult, it is a testament to how much proper preperation contributes to a winning defense.

I don't think you're going to be disappointed R2K, there is just no way that players like Bev who have had to work so hard to do well in the NBA don't watch film. Its a pretty vital part of the practices as players are allowed to look at their own flaws as well as the flaws of others. If Bev didn't watch game tapes, I doubt the coaches would let it slide...

Lol. Matt Thomas was about to wrap up the interview without bringing up the Lillard comments when Pat asked Matt to ask Oat about Lillard. Pat really must be offended by what Lillard said.

Pat's got a point, though, that guys like Curry and Chris Paul would just go "Good game, Pat" while Lillard complained. I wonder what Russell Westbrook says about Beverley's defense.

This. Would love for him to defend like him. Gotta get his trash talk down first and foremost.

It's one thing for Beverley to point out the discrepancy between Lillard's reaction and Curry's and Paul's reactions to his defense -- and I thought he presented the case appropriately earlier in his comments -- but the longer he talked the more he sounded nearly as petulant as Lillard. The first guy's whining about the second's guy defense, and the second guy's whining that the first guy's whining instead of giving the second guy the plaudits he deserves.

Wait, did Bev say in an interview that he doesn't look at film on his assignments?

damn lost in all his bravado... he doesn't watch film, this is ridiculously dumb from Beverley, surely it can't be true in todays NBA

imagine how good his D would be he combined effort and intelligence... perhaps he would not get into so much foul trouble or know how to manage his energy levels better.... or maybe by watching footage he would not follow in a dreadful 3 pointer from the top of the key for a very late and wasted opportunity for an offensive board that he got nowhere near that led to a open dunk for the blazers......

his effort and aggression is so good for the team, but not learning tendencies, this just smacks of playing dumb and not using your brain and the evidence provided to help you be a better defensive player and defensive team (please tell the coaches watch film:) ) kinda makes you wonder, aside from his small size and inconsistent offense if this played a part in him slipping in the draft and not sticking his previous team

This is what stood out most to me reading his quotes. Really wish he would study his opponent to become a great defender. I love his heart, but he should also learn to use all the tools the Rockets give him to his advantage.

How can anyone not love Bev, the dude is a fighter plan and simple. Glad well have him going into the playoffs where its all about physical play. I know its been said before but he definitely gives this team some much need swagger and toughness,
