Yao. Dwight was prob the better player but Yao's desire to win was never questioned, and he gave it his all every game he played.

    Howard tbh is not leader.

What made him great before the injuries and even still now when the playoffs show up is that he just outworks everyone.

You dont lead the NBA in 20-20 games being lazy

Yao was the epitome of 'lead by example'. He was a gym rat. Poor fella. All that weight on his feet:(

He deserved better. It was so fun watching him barely speak English when he entered the league and gradually becoming more and more vocal on the court with his teammates after each season.

Right now Dwight has been great for us and I do not want to see him go. He has been nothing but genuine to the city and organization as of now. He needs to man up however and claim this team as his . He has the physical tools and just needs to be that vocal leader. He may not have the durability but he has certainly shown that when he is on the floor that he is willing to do whatever it takes in order for the team to win. If we are going by how far they've led this team, then Dwight just took to us to WCF and yes he deserves the credit along with Brewer, Ariza, Terry and Smith.

Dwight has gotten flack his entire career about not having the intense competitiveness and desire to win. He brings it in the playoffs, so he gets props for it. But, I can't imagine Dwight pulling a Yao and coming back into a playoff game despite being injured.

No, he really hasn't. You're sipping that LA and ESPN cool aid a little too much.

Steph Curry smiles. Does he have intense competitiveness?

What was the theory on Dwight when he put a franchise on his back and carried them to am NBA Finals?

Does he really not have a desire to win coming back from a an injury which could be career threatening?

I can't imagine Steph Curry coming back in a playoff game if he got injured. See how ridiculous it is making comments that are just an idiotic opinion trying to downplay someone?

Not sure why that loser is always trying to divide the fans on this forum.

Also, to the guy who said Dwight would never show as much effort as Yao, Dwight came back to play an entire series after his knee was injured last year against Golden State.

Dwight is the better defender obviously so I could have voted as a defensive coordinator he is better.

Who is better on Offense and overall, I do not have to tell you this.

... An opinion is what this question is about, is it not? What are the objective criteria again for "better leader?" Unless you have a universally agreed upon criteria, then this is nothing but a poll about opinions - not much different from "whose jumpshot do you find more appealing?"

And I'm not trying to downplay Dwight. Dude's been a beast for us, and I would rate as a better player than Yao. I just carry the opinion that Yao is the better leader based on what I've seen.
