Its really between Irving and Westbrook, and I would pick Irving because I believe he is a more efficient scorer and better decision maker. He also has a great outside shot which is important for floor spacing. Its close though, I could see how Westbrook could be better due to more attacking and more FTA per game, plus he's an excellent defender.
Rose (when healthy), Westbrook (this year), Kyrie, Lillaird, Rubio - In that order. Kyrie might make the stride to be number 1 or 2 in a few years as he is only 20 years old. He plays with a level head and doesn't rely on athleticism to do the work.
+1. I love Irving, but he isn't elite yet as an overall PG. He's an elite offensive PG, but he needs to get better at playmaking + defense. Byron Scott hides him ALL THE TIME defensively vs opposing PGs, which isn't a good sign.
I know Rose, Westbrook are better but I just fell in love with Irving. He is a special kid and will be a superstar one day. Love his game
How is Rose better than Westbrook when he hadn't even play a single game this season. Am not sure if he ever will be 100%
Here's how i would rate the point guards who are 24 year old or under. Tier 1) Franchise players: Rose, Westbrook Tier 2) Potential franchise players: Curry, Irving, Rubio Tier 3) Big 3 level players: Holiday, Jennings Tier 4) Potential big 3 level players: Lillard, Walker, Wall, Turner (I know he plays on the wing for the Sixers) TBD: Bledsoe, Knight
These are 2 completely different questions being asked as 1 poll question. Weighing today and tomorrow I'm going with Kyrie.
Lol at all the Irving votes, must have to do with his recent game. In all seriousness he is 3rd best at the most on that list. You can not ignore his terrible defense. The fact that he has 3 times as many votes as Westbrook is just mind-boggling.
